A Message from Principal Dumar

Hello Bradfield Families!

Throughout the district, students and staff will celebrate how each of our unique differences make for a stronger learning environment for every student, every day. This week, students will participate in classroom discussions, activities and events focused on inclusion, acceptance and empathy for others.

A special thank you to Bradfield’s Special Education Coordinator, Cynthia Marlow,  the HPISD Special Education Parent Advisory Committee (SEPAC) and Bradfield’s SEPAC parent rep, Liz Lynch for their help in coordinating ISW campus/district events and celebrations. Visit the SEPAC webpage to learn more.

I would like to thank Armstrong Bradfield Preschool Association (ABPA) for hosting a fabulous Holiday Home Tour. I appreciate the dedication of ABPA President, Natalie Lesikar and ABPA Home Tour Chairs, Murphey Sears, Kristin Binkley, Krystle Womack and Whitney Carroll. A special thank you to the Huff, Hicks, Keiser and Kennington families who opened their beautiful homes for the tour. The funds raised are gifted to Armstrong and Bradfield Elementary and directly impact our Kindergartners and First Graders. Thank you!

Congratulations to Instructional Coach Valarie Proudfoot, PreK Teacher Kelly DeVoe, Library Assistant Holly Bond and Teaching Assistants Farah Sakhai, Kristen Schweiger and Wioletta Truszkowska for earning the Heart at Work Award. Superintendent, Dr. Trigg along with his prize patrol surprised the staff members last week with certificates and pins. Congratulations!

As a reminder, the Heart at Work Nominations for HPISD staff members may be submitted using this link. Anyone in the community, staff or students may nominate a staff member who goes above and beyond in serving our students, staff, families and community. Let’s honor our staff members who display a servant’s heart, make a difference in the lives of others and inspire other HPISD employees through their actions. Each person nominated will be recognized at the campus level. In the Spring, the District Heart at Work Committee will review all of those recognized at the campus level and will select one certified and one non-exempt staff member from each campus to be honored and awarded $500 at the annual staff recognition banquet. I encourage you to nominate our dedicated staff members who make a difference in the lives of your children.

Thank you to Scott Trulock for always jumping in to lend a helping hand! We appreciate you building the shelves for the Art Room.

The writer of the week was second grader Eleanor Fallows in Mrs. Jones’ class. Her assignment was to write an informative piece based on research. She shared a variety of unique facts about dolphins and sharks and provided detailed illustrations. Great job, Eleanor!

I encourage you to check out the Broncoland spotlight.

I look forward to seeing you and your children at the front door!

A Message from our PTA President, Kate Cutshall

As we enter the last two weeks of school for 2022, please take a moment to visit the Lost and Found, which has been placed at the front entry of the school. There is so much inventory of sweatshirts and water bottles, we could open a boutique! Any items left by December 16th, will be collected, and donated to charity.

Please join me in thanking the following volunteers for keeping Bradfield BOLD:

  • Our resident artists, Brooke Ryan & Medley Turner, have created another masterpiece in the display case for the holidays. Stop by and see the adorable Bradfield Snowman! Thank you, Ladies, for making our lobby festive!

  • And a big thank you to another set of talented Moms who gave a helping hand to the Parent Parties. Rene Norris created all the balloon displays and Ashley Reid and Sarah Jaudes made all the gorgeous flower arrangements! Thank you so much!

Fondly,

Kate Cutshall

HPISD Community News

Mad for Plaid is the Highland Park Education Foundation's annual campaign supporting HPISD's current, greatest need - teacher and staff salary support. This year, the Foundation has committed a historic gift of $1.7 million for HPISD teacher and staff salaries. This gift will account for one percent of the overall five percent increase for teachers and staff in the 2022-2023 school year. We are confident in our commitment because of the unwavering support of our HP community. The Foundation is grateful for your consideration and know that your gift directly benefits ALL teachers and staff districtwide.

Supporting Mad for Plaid is important to Tracy and her husband, who have a second grader in HPISD, because of the amazing people in our schools who educate our students.

As a parent, you get to see first-hand the benefit of our teachers and staff and how they work to keep the HP tradition of exemplary education alive and well for current and future students. Please join us and know that every gift, no matter the size, makes a difference in the life of our HP community.
