A Message from Dr. Hilton

Dear Bradfield Parents,

I love seeing our Broncos step up to help others. They see a need and take action just like their parents!

Small Change Adds Up to Big Changes!

Bradfield students completed a successful Change for Children’s drive this week.  Each Bronco was given a change box and a charge to collect donations to benefit the Pet Therapy program at Children’s Health.  We even had a special visit from two of the very important therapy dogs, Atticus and Lloyd, who greeted students upon arrival at school and made a special appearance on the BBTV morning announcements.  We appreciate the KC (Kindness & Compassion) Club for spearheading the drive, and to ALL the Broncos for collecting donations!

Our 1st graders this week experienced some crazy critters! Creature Teacher came to Bradfield and brought wonderful examples of wildlife to our students.

Students explored the different external structures of animals and how these structures help these animals interact with their environment, move, and meet their survival needs.

Finally, our 4th graders learned about animal habitats and ecosystems at the Highland Park High School Digitarium.  Then they were tasked to apply their learning by creating a prototype of an animal habitat.  A quick shout-out to Highland Park High School’s Digitarium and MAPS/STEM Program, as our students had an amazing time and created some really cool habitats.

I hope everyone is having a fantastic weekend, and I will see you and your children on the front steps tomorrow morning.

Kindly,

Dr. Aimee Hilton

A Message from our PTA President, Rachel Reed

As Bradfield prepares to open its doors for our largest visitor event of the year, Great Friends Day, I wanted to pause to thank some teams who have worked throughout the year to keep Bradfield’s halls bright and cheerful.  Claudia Conard and Shannon Young have kept our front entry display case filled with the cutest seasonal and school-event decor as PTA”s Display Case Chairs.  Additionally, Charlotte Hunt and Lisse Roy, our Art Display Chairs, coordinate with Ms. Cromley and volunteers from all classes, to ensure the halls are filled with the creativity and cheer of our Broncos’ artwork.

PTA and Bradfield also want to extend a special thanks to Kathy Colvard, grandmother to Jack, Eliza and Mary Clayton Labanowski.  Nearly every week this entire year, Kathy has volunteered in the teacher workroom making photocopies for all of Bradfield.  After seeing the increase in our Broncos’ paper-based school work this year, we cannot thank you enough, Kathy, for taking some of this workload off the staff members’ plates.

Finally, I look forward to seeing everyone at our PTA Spring General Meeting on Tuesday morning.  All Bradfield parents are invited and encouraged to attend.  We anticipate an extremely informative and insightful discussion from our guest speakers, who are experts in childhood anxiety and its relevance in the elementary years.

With gratitude,

Rachel
