Dear Bradfield Families,
I hope everyone had a wonderful and relaxing Labor Day weekend. Even though saying goodbye to summer is hard, I love the fall season. Pumpkins, apple cider, football, and the cooler weather are some of the things that make fall so great!
We also have some special events coming up this month. On Wednesday, September 11th, Bradfield will proudly participate in National Remembrance and Service Day. We will take this opportunity to honor our First Responders. Bradfield Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts will play a special role as they help lead this important ceremony. Parents are welcome to participate as the students and faculty will gather around the flagpole, on the Sport Court, at 8:05AM.
Speaking of First Responders, Bradfield is lucky to have our School Resource Officer (SRO) keep us safe while building relationships with our Broncos. Officer Holley models exemplary behavior and is a role model for our students and community. He takes pride in his role, and we are honored to have him play a vital role in the daily lives of our Broncos. Thank you, Officer Holley.
Safety Tip from Officer Holley
For students that use Armstrong Parkway north of Mockingbird to and from Bradfield Elementary, please use caution while there is construction near the intersection of Potomac. We have been advised this project will continue for at least another two months. We were advised the sidewalk is passable and the construction crew has been advised of the pedestrian traffic from the school.
We ask that our Bradfield Bronco students and family exercise caution in this area. Watch for construction equipment entering and exiting the alley. Walk your bicycles or scooters through the zone. Follow the directions of construction personnel on site, and do not cross Armstrong within the construction zone.
Before I wrap up this week’s message and share some photos from Broncoland, I want to thank our wonderful Kindergarten moms and dads for treating the staff to a delicious luncheon from Heirloom Haul on Friday. A special thanks to Christen Bright, Kelly Diehl, Stephanie Ernst, Sara Shuart, and Steve Noviello for taking the time out of your day to decorate the faculty dining room (FDR) and for setting up the beautiful luncheon. We all felt loved and appreciated.
