Status Update: Mid-Point Assessment Recommendations

Bronx Health Access PPS ranked fifth out of the 25 PPS' across New York for strong partner engagement, according to recent results from the Midpoint Assessment conducted by the DSRIP Independent Assessor (IA).  Part of the assessment by the third-party vendor included a 360 survey to randomly-selected partners within the PPS network, a site visit from the IA, and the IA's review of the PPS' quarterly reports to New York State Department of Health (DOH) and the PPS' project and organizational narratives on project implementation.

The survey asked partners about their experience with various components of PPS performance, namely thoughts and feedback around governance, contracting and funds flow, performance management, and information technology solutions. The review did not uncover any significant concerns related to the organizational capacity of the PPS to support the successful implementation of DSRIP or any concerns related to the implementation of the DSRIP projects, specifically related to partner engagement.

The most relevant data point from the Bronx Health Access 360 survey is that three of the most instrumental community based providers (Mental Health, Practitioner Non-PCP, and Practitioner PCP) had a positive perception towards the PPS' Engagement, Communication, and Effectiveness. This data indicates that Bronx Health Access has done a good job of engaging some of the key community based network partners.  Below are some comments from respondents:

  • "The PPS has engaged me from the very beginning, in town halls and board, emphasizing the importance of behavioral health."
  • "We are often asked for best practices and input on all projects; we're very included in decision making."
  • "The PMO's IT team has been very engaged in understanding our systems - even coming to our sites to learn our flows within our EMR. The team has also offered to help interface with the RHIO to ensure that the connection process runs smoothly."

Thank you to all of our partners for your dedication and hard work in as the PPS continues to evolve to meet DSRIP goals.  We look forward to the new year and to continuing to work towards improvement.

Happy Holidays!
