A community group including Lehman President Fernando Delgado is working to imagine a future for the Armory that includes community engagement and public-private partnerships that aim to increase economic opportunity. A formal vision plan was recently announced.

Bold, Persistent, Unbreakable: The Lehman College Annual Leadership Gala was originally postponed due to Canadian wildfire smoke but the College persisted and held a successful Gala 2.0 on September 14. Members of the community at large were honored, including Montefiore Einstein, the Carroll and Milton Petrie Foundation, with special recognition of Lesmah J. Fraser ’75, James Malcolm Jenkins ’23, and Andre O’Neal Harrell (posthumous). Photos from the award presentation taken by Brian Hatton are shown above. | |

Blooming: Students from Lehman College Campus Honors and Scholar Engagement (CHASE), with faculty, staff, and community partners including Van Cortlandt Park Alliance, celebrated the end of summer planting and weeding at the Enslaved African Burial Ground at Van Cortlandt Park. The once untended plot is now a pollinator and indigenous herb garden, planted in honor of the unnamed enslaved Africans buried there. | | | | |
