Softball

This year, the Brookfield Academy welcomes two co-op players from University Lake School to the team. In the first game of the season, BA took a commanding lead with big bats leading to a 31-3 win over the Brown Deer/USM Falcats.

Every player in the lineup scored at least one run for BA during the game. Christina Burghardt collected multiple hits, including a double and a triple, with 6 RBIs. Julia Van Bogart earned the victory on the mound, allowing only three hits from the pitching circle, striking out five.

Defense was strong for the Blue Knights, including a double play from Leora Schmidt at 3rd to Ella Thompson at 1st to Aureilia Rushing at home, preventing a run from scoring.

On Tuesday, a seven-run third inning led to a 9-2 victory against Kenosha Christian Life. BA collected nine hits in the game against a tough pitcher. Johanna Zaleski led the team's offense with two hits and two RBIs and a steal of home to score a run! The Blue Knights defense in this game was solid with another double play on a fly ball caught by Julia Van Bogart with the runner picked off at first base by Naomi Grande.

The ladies have started the season off hot! This week they have a home game against Watertown Luther Prep on Friday at 4:30 pm and then have an early morning start Saturday with a doubleheader at 9 am against Dominican.
