Girls Soccer

Last week, the girls soccer team traveled to East Troy for a non-conference game. It didn't take long for the girls to get on the board as Claire Tracy found forward Johanna Zaleski for the first goal in the second minute. Twenty minutes later, forward Patricia Weiss delivered a nice pass to Tracy who scored her first goal of the match. One minute before half, Weiss and Tracy paired up again to give the Blue Knights a 3-0 advantage at the break.

In the second half, midfielder Leora Schmidt crossed the ball to the far post and found midfielder Cynthia Yu, who made the score 4-0. A few minutes later, Weiss and Tracy paired up for the third time for a 5-0 advantage, and Weiss's third assist of the game. In the 58th minute, BA was awarded a penalty kick which Tracy converted for the final goal of the game. Tracy finished with four goals and an assist. Goalie Sydnie Dehne played 60 scoreless minutes while freshman Shivi Shah finished the game in the nets to help finish off BA's second shutout in a row.

The following week, the Blue Knights traveled to Division 1 power Sussex Hamilton. In a tight first half, Claire Tracy delivered a perfect through ball to Patricia Weiss for a shot just outside the 6-yard box. The Chargers goalie came up with a big save to keep BA from taking the lead.

With eight minutes left in the half, the Chargers finally managed to put one past keeper Sydnie Dehne, who frustrated Hamilton's high power offense the entire first half. With a 1-0 halftime lead, the Chargers managed to finish the game with a 6-0 advantage. The Blue Knights battled hard the entire game and gained much experience as a team, which will prove helpful as the season progresses.

The Blue Knights are ranked 4th in the Division 4 wissports.com poll.
