To end the week, the ladies played West Allis Central Friday night. A big first inning was started with a walk by Faith Landowski. The Blue Knights continued to bat through the order with every player scoring. Christina Burghardt, Aureilia Rushing, and Ella Thompson each had triples in the game, keeping scorekeepers busy in the 17-1 win. Julia Van Bogart was on the rubber. The pitcher allowed only two hits and one run while striking out five. Defense was sure handed with no errors in the game. Halle Arvold had a great play at second base.

It’s a busy week for the ladies as they travel Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday for away games.

Boys Tennis

This past week, the Blue Knights played four Division 1 opponents, finishing with a 3-1 record against them. First, the team defeated #8 ranked Sussex Hamilton 6-1. Hamilton boasts a strong lineup, and the boys were up for the challenge to secure the win. The highlight of the match was the #1 doubles team of Vibhu Guda and Sanjit Madireddi winning 10-8 in a third set tiebreaker.

The following day, BA participated in the Spartan Invite. First up for the boys was the defending Division 1 State Runner-Up, Neenah Rockets. BA came ready to play and defeated the #7 ranked Rockets 5-2. BA continued to play great tennis, defeating #11 Arrowhead with a sweep 7-0.

The hot streak finally came to an end on Saturday, when the team lost to #5 ranked Brookfield Central.

Peyton Zeiler and Armaan Bhasin, along with Zach Weiner, all went undefeated throughout the weekend.

The Blue Knights are ranked #1 in Division 2 and sit at a 10-4 record. This includes a 4-4 record against Division 1 top 15 ranked teams and a 7-4 record against Division 1 opponents.

Up next for BA is the BA Invitational against #2 Xavier, #4 Catholic Memorial, and Prairie. These three teams are some of the best teams in Division 2!

Girls Soccer

The BA girls soccer team played two games last week against very strong opponents. The week finished with a 4-0 loss at state-ranked Brookfield East and a close 2-0 loss at Wauwatosa West. The girls gained some very valuable experience and saw a lot of improvement competing against such talented teams.

This will be realized as the girls begin their conference schedule this week.

Baseball

The Blue Knights baseball team continued its season in recent contests vs. USM, Living Word Lutheran, and Lake Country Lutheran. Unfortunately, BA was unable to come out on top, but is looking forward to upcoming games vs. LCL at home on April 27, and against Kenosha Christian Life next week.

Alex Dieck, Luke Rogutich, Justin Manke, and Garrett Priebe were bright spots on the team over the week.

Golf

On Tuesday, April 18, the boys varsity golf team competed in a conference mini-meet at New Berlin Hills. BA finished second out of four teams. Individual honors for the meet went to Ben Book with a score of 39. Other individual scores for BA were Raghav Vijayapal (42), Max Duthie (43), Kai Suh (45), and Jon Sabani (47).

On Saturday, April 22, the team competed in the Catholic Memorial Crusader Invite at Broadlands Golf Club. There were 16 teams in the event, including nine Division 1 teams, and BA tied for a respectable ninth place. In a spectacular showing, BA's Ben Book took medalist honors with a 2-under par 70. The meet featured very cold weather, including snow and hail. Twice during play, the greens turned white with hail. Congratulations to Ben and the team for competing well in challenging weather.

The BA Middle School tennis team completed its first matches of the year in epic fashion last Tuesday. The Blue Knights were undefeated against St. Dominic's, despite their team's strong effort from both singles and doubles players. Teamwork and determination set the tone for the day as Sanjay Dagam brought in the final win with an amazing 12-9 tiebreak win. Congratulations to the entire team as we carry our winning momentum into this week's matches!
