Girls Varsity Soccer

The girls soccer team opened its season with a 2-0 win at Waukesha South. Many girls played together for the first time. Sydnie Dehne recorded a shutout in her first game in the net as goalie.

Junior midfielder Claire Tracy scored both goals on assists by sophomore forward Johanna Zaleski and junior midfielder Madison York. Junior Patricia Weiss made her first start on the front line and added continual pressure on South's defense.

Softball

With only two players graduating last spring, the Brookfield Academy softball team is reloaded and ready for the diamond. With the addition of some promising newcomers and our returning veterans, we should see some great softball this season.

Weather permitting, the first game will be Thursday, April 6, at 4:30 pm at home against Brown Deer. We are hoping for sunnier skies next week for our first conference home game against KCL on Tuesday at 4:30 pm.

Boys Tennis

The boys varsity tennis team has started practice in anticipation for its first tennis tournament of the year this Thursday and Friday. The boys will take part in the Sweet 16, hosted by Mukwonago, which comprises of 15 Division 1 schools and Division 2 BA. The team hopes to get off to a good start against tough competition.

The team is looking to defend its 2022 team state championship, the first boys tennis team state championship in school history.

Seven players who qualified for the individual state tournament last season return to the team. We are excited for the tough schedule the team has this year.

The boys have two home matches next week. The first is on Tuesday against Oconomowoc at 4 pm. On Wednesday, the team hosts Brookfield East, the two-time defending Division 1 State champions.

The weather looks to be nice next week, so we hope to have a lot of you supporting the team!
