Varsity Volleyball

Last Saturday, the varsity volleyball team competed at the West Allis Central Volleyball Tournament. Overall, the team went 2-2 on the day. It was a good learning day for the group, as they implemented several new plays and strategies in the game.

Monday night, the girls faced University School of Milwaukee, our conference rival. The ladies were fired up for the match and played amazing! We swept USM, winning 25-13, 25-10, 25-20. Everyone on the team contributed, and it was an exciting win.

Girls Varsity Tennis

BA's varsity girls tennis team enters the third week of the season ranked #9 in the D2 girls high school tennis rankings.

Last Thursday, the team defeated Martin Luther 6-1. Sophomore Ashna Dagam, freshman Claire Tian, and junior Patricia Weiss all secured wins on the singles side of the dual.

All three doubles teams took care of business against Martin Luther. The doubles teams were Lexi Kass/Laurette Blanchard (#1 doubles), Riya Singh/Simran Bhatia (#2 doubles), and Kate Allen/Madison York (#3 doubles).

On Friday, the tennis team took over the softball diamond for the second annual BA tennis softball game. This made-up sport combines softball with tennis. The players use tennis rackets instead of bats and tennis balls instead of softballs. Team Gold defended its crown from 2021 and defeated Team Blue 13-12.

The Blue Knights have a full week of practice before taking on three tough opponents on Saturday - The Prairie School, Westosha Central, and #4 ranked New Berlin Eisenhower. All three matches take place at The Prairie School.

Boys Varsity Soccer

Last Thursday, the boys soccer team opened its season with a 4-1 win at home against Division 3 ranked New Berlin West. Sophomore forward Benny Keppler started off the scoring, beating out two West defenders and the goalkeeper to find the back of the net. Two more second half goals came off the foot of junior midfielder Davis Arvold.

New Berlin West managed to convert a penalty kick, but Keppler scored his second goal of the game to finalize the win. Junior goalkeeper Jacob Schneck played an outstanding game, making several saves to keep West frustrated and scoreless. Senior co-captain and centerback Carlos Castro-Lopez led the back line for the Blue Knights. Center midfielders and senior co-captains Ethan Grande and Thomas Minix provided leadership and tremendous effort in the victory.

Level 7/8 Boys Soccer

The Brookfield Academy Blue Knights started the soccer season on Tuesday with a matchup against Southeast Wisconsin Christian Homeschool Athletics (SWCHA) Saints. It was a brilliant start, as Isaaq Qureshi scored a goal in the first five minutes, followed a few minutes later by a goal from Ryker Koch.

The Blue Knights never looked back with an overwhelming final of 15-1. Along with Isaaq and Ryker, Lucas Babovic finished the game with a hat trick. While most would think this was a dominate offensive performance, the Blue Knights defensive players were outstanding, led by their goalie, Keagan Michelich. Keagan made several acrobatic saves to hold the Saints to a scoreless second half.

JR Knights Football

The Level 5/6 and Level 7/8 Jr. Knights teams participated in all day scrimmages hosted at BA on Saturday. Over 400 athletes were involved. There were eight teams for each age group, coming from all over Wisconsin. Each team played four different games throughout the day.

The BA boys were able to perform reps at different positions and scored several touchdowns. There has been a great amount of new skill development in the past few weeks, and the boys did a great job taking those new skills into the scrimmages.
