The girls basketball team played four games this past week. After almost three weeks without a game, the girls returned to take on Heritage Christian. BA came away victorious with a 60-28 victory. Luci Jensen scored 22 to lead the Blue Knights in scoring. Madison Leschig added 13 points to the win, while Amelia Rigel poured in 12 points to round out the double-digit scorers for the team.
The girls kept the positive momentum going into the next game and defeated Kenosha Christian Life 87-49. Luci Jensen and Amelia Rigel exploded offensively, scoring an incredible 32 and 29 points, respectively. Madison York scored 11, Sydnie Dehne nine, Madison Leschig four, and Patricia Weiss two.

The next day, BA saw its win streak come to an end. The girls lost a hard-fought battle against Wisconsin Lutheran 68-48. Luci Jensen and Amelia Rigel each scored 17 points to lead the Blue Knights. Madison York contributed seven points, Sydnie Dehne five, and Madison Leschig two.
On Tuesday, January 10, the girls team hosted Living Word Lutheran. Brookfield Academy led most of the game and won 50-44. Sydnie Dehne led the Blue Knights in scoring with 16 points, followed by Luci Jensen with 13, and Amelia Rigel with 10. Madison York scored nine, and Madison Leschig scored two points.
Up next for the Blue Knights is a home game against Messmer on Thursday, January 12. Tipoff is set for 7:15 pm.

BA's boys varsity basketball team traveled to the Wisconsin Dells Just A Game Fieldhouse this past Saturday to take on Brown Deer. Unfortunately, the Blue Knights lost a tight game by a score of 57-55. Maliq Crawford led the team in scoring with 13 points, followed by Anthony Przybilla and Trent Rayborn each scoring 12. On Monday, the boys dominated Milwaukee Excellence from start to finish. Taking a 44-21 lead into halftime, the boys were able to take care of business in the second half and win 80-41. Anthony Przybilla and Nolan Demski led the way in the scoring department for the Blue Knights with 17 points each. Davis Arvold started the game on fire and finished with 15 points. Trent Rayborn added 10 points to round out the team's double digit scorers.
BA takes on Heritage Christian at home on Saturday, January 14. Tipoff is set for 7:15 pm and has big implications on the Midwest Classic Conference standings.

Rain and balmy spring conditions last week postponed UBLT's (ULS/BA/LCL/Trinity co-op) season-opening Giant Slalom ski race to Tuesday, January 10, at Sunburst Ski Hill. UBLT took on Cedarburg, West Bend, and Kettle Moraine.
The boys varsity team earned second place. Senior William Morgan clinched first place in the individual standings and earned an automatic qualification to the State Meet. Junior Kamron Kaiser placed 16th in the standings.
The girls varsity team finished in third place with senior Brynn Jeide taking 10th place, followed by freshman Marilee Nygro in 13th and senior Cosette Holley in 18th.
The boys JV team claimed first place. Junior Vibhu Guda finished second in the JV individual standings. The JV girls team took fourth overall, with freshman Meghan Jeide securing fourth and sophomore Johanna Zaleski 16th in the individual standings.
Team UBLT next races against Marquette, DSHA, Homestead, and Oconomowoc on Thursday, January 12, at 6 pm at Heiliger Huegel Ski Club.

Level 8
The Level 8 girls took on the combined team from St. Mary/St. John Vianney. The girls jumped out to an early lead, but could not hang on to win the game.
Despite a fourth quarter comeback, the girls could not overcome their opponents. The girls lost by a score of 29-20.

Level 6
The Level 6 girls basketball team earned a league win on Saturday, January 7, beating St. Jude's by a score of 15-12. The team matched its opponent’s physicality which resulted in steals and ball control. Lucy Allen led the team with eight points and seven steals, while Alayna Bauer added four points and Addison Albers chipped in three points. Overall, it was a hard-earned win!
The team looks to build on this performance when it takes on St. Sebastian’s next Saturday, January 14.

Level 5
The team faced a defensively tough, high scoring St. John Vianney team on Saturday, which resulted in a 34-2 loss. Maggie Mize and Alyssa Klemm each made a free throw.
On Sunday, the team had a game against St. Francis Borgia. There was great rebounding by Navy Kehoe and Lana Robinson. Baskets were made by Harper Spaeth and Eleni Gebreyesus. Unfortunately, the team lost 7-6 in the final seconds of the game.

Level 8
It was an exciting day for the Level 8 Gold team this past Saturday as the team was at full strength for the first time all season.
After trailing 6-2 to Christ King at the end of the first quarter, the boys started playing better. They took control in the second quarter, and headed into halftime with a 13-10 lead.
In the end, BA won 27-20 to improve its record to 3-2 overall and 2-2 in league play. It was good to see the boys find a way to win even though they were not playing great basketball.
Keagan Michelich led BA in scoring with 10 points, followed by Ethan Potthast with nine, Eli Wintheiser with four, Isaaq Qureshi with two, and Nicholas Roth with two.
The boys hope to play better from start to finish this weekend against St. Boniface and St. John Vianney.

Level 6
The Level 6 boys Blue team played a pair of games at home against Messmer and St. Mary Menomonee Falls. The boys defeated Messmer by a score of 35-22 in a close game. In the second game of the morning, the boys had to come back from a 12-point deficit in the second half to get the victory. The boys prevailed by a score of 40-38 and improved to a 4-1 record in league play.
