As we transition into the winter sports season, only a few fall sports were in action last week. Congratulations to all student-athletes, coaches, parents, and supporters on great fall seasons.
CROSS COUNTRY
After many miles run, 5k's raced, and team support and spirit shared, the Brookfield Academy boys and girls cross country teams qualified for and competed at the Ridges State Cross Country Course in Wisconsin Rapids.

This challenging course, on a sunny upper 50s day, proved to be another successful grind for both teams. Led by ninth place overall finisher Nathaniel Osborne, the boys finished with a tremendous fifth place out of 16 teams. Strong races by Kamron Kaiser, Carlos Castro-Lopez, Jacob Reiner, Danny Reiner, Davis Arvold, and Grant Ihlenfeld helped solidify what has been a great season.

Consistent leader Rose Erlinder led the girls Blue Knights to a strong eighth place finish out of 16 teams. The eighth place finish was secured with the help from a super supporting cast consisting of Luci Jensen, Leora Schmidt, Claire Tracy, Tara Dhawale, Izabella Gomez, and Avery Denman.

It has been notable how courageous Tara and Avery ran while dealing with some bumps and bruises. Equally as important as the races was how much warmth, laughter, and team spirit contributed to memories that will last forever.

VOLLEYBALL

On Saturday, October 30, the 5th/6th grade volleyball team ended its season with a loss against St. Gabriel Catholic School. BA won the first set, lost the second, and lost the third by a narrow two points.

7/8
The 7th/8th grade volleyball team had its last league match versus St. Francis Cabrini. Although it didn’t end in a win, all the players really showed how much they have learned this year and how far they have come.

This week, the girls have a match in the invite-only Seton Tournament and an end-of-the-year party. It’s been truly amazing to see this team in action and how determined they were to get better every week!
