2021-22 School Theme: Celebrate Learning Together
|
|
As we enter November and take time to consider our many blessings, students from each Division shared some of the things about Brookfield Academy for which they are particularly thankful. As you can see, they overwhelmingly recognized their teachers. They highlighted the impact teachers have on learning specific subjects, creating a sense of community, and dedication to developing the entire individual that are all hallmarks of BA.
"I feel at home and the teachers are all very kind. BA is a nice and fun place to learn."
~ Mohul Narayan, Level 5
"When we're having a rough day, teachers give us a smile in the halls. When we're having a rough time in a subject, they are willing to be patient and work with us until we get it."
~ Shivani Shah, Level 8
"Faculty are always there to support us. They let us come as we are and accept us. They don't try to push us into these predetermined boxes. As cliché as it may sound, they see us for who we are and cultivate that in the classroom."
~ Sophia Thomas, Level 12

COVID-19 UPDATES
Our helpful new COVID-19 Quick Reference Guide is a useful tool with additional details and answers to school-related questions you may have if your student is feeling ill or may have been exposed to COVID-19.
-
Parents, please help us by monitoring students for COVID-19 symptoms and keeping students home if they show any signs of illness.
-
Reminder: Please contact your Division's Administrative Assistant if anyone in your family has had direct contact with someone testing positive for COVID-19. A direct contact is defined as being within six feet of someone without a mask for 15 minutes or more. When making determinations about these situations, we will consider this definition; however, under certain circumstances, we may find it in the best interest of our students to expand upon this definition of direct contact. It is our intention to always do what is most necessary to keep our students, staff, and faculty safe.
-
Ongoing Updates: In addition to weekly newsletter updates, wellness protocols and other information are available in the MyBA parent portal under the COVID-19 School Updates.

Weather-related school closings will also be made on the following radio/television stations: WTMJ, WISN, FOX-6, WDJT, WMYX, WEMP, and WFMR. Weather-related absences: Brookfield Academy’s philosophy is to hold school whenever possible despite weather conditions. If an individual parent judges weather conditions to be hazardous and wishes to keep the student home, he or she should notify the school of the student’s absence.
