Brookline CDC Expands Emergency Rental Assistance Program

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

With Brookline's high rents exacerbating increasingly unaffordable rents, Brookline Community Development Corporation (Brookline CDC) continues working with Metro West CD to offer our Emergency Rental Assistance (ERA) Program. Funded by the Town of Brookline and the Brookline Community Foundation, this program provides up to $5,000 in rental aid per household, paid directly to landlords over a 12-month period.

In addition to ERA funds, tenants are encouraged to also seek assistance from The Residential Assistance for Families in Transition (RAFT) program which provides short-term emergency funding to help you with eviction, foreclosure, loss of utilities, and other housing emergencies.

Thanks to this support, the ERA program stabilized over 30 households in 2024 and aims to assist even more in 2025. We have also helped these families as part of our holiday gift drive and with financial and emotional wellness programming. Applications are open while funds last and are processed on a first-come, first-served basis. To apply or support the program, visit the ERA page of our website or contact LaDinaMosby at Ladina@brooklinecdc.com or 857-339-2406.
