Brookline Community Foundation Awards $335,000 in Fall Grants to Local Nonprofits Making a Difference
BROOKLINE, MA: The Brookline Community Foundation (BCF) awarded more than $335,000 in grants to 19 organizations through its 2019 Fall Community Grant Cycle.

These grants will support high quality programs and organizations serving the diverse needs of Brookline residents, and are strongly aligned with BCF's strategic focus on reducing and eliminating the impacts of poverty, improving access to out-of-school time programs, and meeting the health and wellness needs of youth and other vulnerable community members," said Gioia Perugini, BCF Vice President and Chair of the Program and Grants Committee.

BCF's fall grants are made possible by BCF's generous annual fund donors, as well as specific funds established by New England Treatment Access (NETA) and the Brookline Tuberculosis and Health Society, which provided significant resources to invest in the health and wellness of Brookline residents. This year's Health and Wellness grants have focused on providing support for Brookline's young people and vulnerable populations and  been given to organizations that provide access to quality out-of-school time experiences; build the capacity of low-income women; provide vital services for seniors; increase food security for low-income individuals and families; strengthen the social service network for low-income residents; and support families with children in crisis.

The 2019 Fall Community Grant Cycle funded the following organizations: 2Life Communities; Brookline Arts Center; Brookline Center for Community Mental Health; Brookline Chinese School; Brookline Council on Aging; Brookline Food Pantry; Brookline Housing Authority; Brookline Hub; Brookline Interactive Group; Brookline Teen Center; Emerald Necklace Conservancy; FriendshipWorks; Jewish Family and Children's Services; Judge Baker Children's Center; MAB Community Services, Inc.; Springwell, Inc.; Steps to Success, Inc.; Studios Without Walls; and Women Thriving, Inc.

Since 1999, BCF has given more than $9.1 million in grants to more than 120 nonprofits that address the needs of our community.
