Tour beautiful Brooklyn Heights and learn its significance in the Revolutionary War -- how it developed into the 1st suburb of New York.
See Henry Ward Beecher's Plymouth Church, one of the transit hubs of the underground railroad and “mock slave auctions.”
See Walt Whitman's home and office building.
View the beautiful Promenade Manhattan skyline.
Note Robert Moses' Influence.
Pass the residences of various noted authors and celebrities and more.
Walk across Brooklyn Bridge.
Work up an appetite for Dim Sum in Chinatown.
Total walk is 4-5 miles with 1 steep downhill (~30 degrees).

HOW TO GET THERE
Take 9:00 am train (the first off-peak train) from Westport to Grand Central.
Meet at the "Clock" / Grand Central Information Booth 10:15 am.
Subway to Brooklyn.
Tour through Brooklyn Heights.
Walk across Brooklyn Bridge for Dim Sum in Chinatown.
Subway to Grand Central and return home via Metro North.
