In anticipation of Winter Break, we have lots of information to share. School closes on Dec. 16 at 3 p.m. and will reopen on Jan. 3 at 12 p.m. If a student needs help with a place to stay for these dates, please be in touch with the Dean's office as soon as possible. All boarding students are expected to clean their rooms and check out with a dorm faculty member before leaving, including students who are involved with winter tournaments.
Study Hall Update
We will be holding an afternoon study hall on Dec. 6, Dec. 8 and Dec. 13 for all third- and fourth-form students (day and boarding) who have an afternoon activity that runs past 8 p.m. on these days. Study hall will run from 3:45 - 4:55 p.m. in the Science Forum. Anyone is welcome, but third- and fourth-form students with a later practice are required to attend.
Mentor Meeting for Third-Form Students
Head Prefect Laura Kahu '23 has been working hard to develop a mentor program for our third-form students. On Dec. 7, mentors and their third-form mentees will be meeting in the library at 7 p.m. This meeting will include a talk with Director of Health and Wellness Melissa Donais, who will discuss various ways in which one can combat stress during Exhibitions of Learning (EOLs). The mentors will then break out into their groups to engage in conversation about how to best manage a week of EOLs at Brooks while enjoying pizza. This meeting should end by 7:45 p.m.

Family Information
Save the Date: Sip and Shop for Brooks!
Start your holiday shopping on Main Street in Andover at our inaugural Sip and Shop for Brooks! Join us at clothing boutique Native Sun, owned by Brooks parent Lisa Darke P'24, for a reception and shopping for the holidays on Dec. 7 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Meet fellow Brooks families, get a jump on your holiday shopping and support the Brooks community all at the same time! A portion of the sales proceeds will support the year-end Brooks Employee Appreciation Luncheon.
In Need of Donuts for Starbrooks!
On Dec. 13 we will transform Wilder Dining Hall into our own version of Starbucks — Starbrooks! — featuring an expansive hot chocolate bar, decadent donuts, chocolate-covered pretzels, candy and more. Please consider one of the following ways you can support this special event:

  • Did you know that donuts are one of the most popular items at the parent sponsored events for students and faculty? The more sprinkles the better! As you are thinking about ways to bring joy to students and friends during the EOL week, think about purchasing a dozen donuts (or two!) for our community. Venmo co-chair Jessie Kelleher P'24 (@Jessica-Kelleher-3) a $20 contribution and she will coordinate your purchase of a dozen donuts.

  • If you are more of an online shopper, you can order from our Amazon wish list for event needs.

  • Venmo a donation in an amount of your choice to underwrite the cost of the event and the raffles. We hope to have a raffle for each form and the employees. (Again, please Venmo your donation to @Jessica-Kelleher-3.)

Thank you to co-chairs Jessie Kelleher P'24 and Jaclyn Olivieri P’26 for coordinating this event! Any questions? Please contact Jessie, Jaclyn or Director of the Brooks Fund and Family Engagement Mary Merrill.
