Re-Enrollment Process — NOW THROUGH ONBROOKS
The re-enrollment process for returning students is starting soon in coordination with the Business Office and Blackbaud Enrollment Management. The process has changed from previous years and the enrollment agreements will now be available within OnBrooks with a parent or guardian account. The agreements will be generated to OnBrooks and available for completion beginning as early as Feb. 5. Signed agreements and deposits will be due on or before March 1.
Please note that your family’s 2023-2024 Blackbaud Tuition Management balance must be current (i.e., no balance in arrears/past due as of Jan. 31, 2024) for the enrollment agreement to be released for 2024-2025. College Counseling and Standardized Testing
There are several upcoming opportunities for fifth-form students to take SAT and ACT tests. As a general rule, the College Counseling Office encourages all fifth-form students to take the SAT at least once and the ACT at least once. Specific conversations are happening now between each fifth former and their college counselor. Students who qualify for accommodations at Brooks should be in contact with Director of the Learning Center and Test Coordinator Karina Moltz about accommodations for standardized testing.
Please note: Students and their families are responsible for registering themselves for tests.

The SAT is offered on March 9. Brooks is not a test center. The regular registration deadline for the March 9 SAT is Feb. 23. After that date, there is a late registration fee. Go to The College Board site to register for a test center near home.

The ACT will be offered at Brooks on April 13. The regular registration deadline for the April ACT is March 8. After that date, there is a late registration fee. Go to ACT and enter the TEST CENTER CODE - 224020. Don't forget: April 13 is Grandparents and Special Friends Day, too!

All Community Read Speaker
As part of our All Community Read programming, we are excited to bring to campus Omar El Akkad, author of this year’s All Community Read, American War. He will be speaking to the school community on Feb. 12 at 7 p.m. about his book.
El Akkad was born in Egypt, but moved to Canada as a teenager and now lives in Oregon. He began his career as a journalist reporting on the war on terror in Afghanistan, Guantanamo Bay and other locations. American War was his debut novel. We look forward to hearing about his career and what led him to write this dystopian fiction novel.

Exchange Program
Welcome to campus, Mateo Bartra and Andrea Esponda! The Exchange students join us from Colegio Trener in Lima, Peru. They arrived on Jan. 26 and will return home on Feb. 26.
Later this year, two Brooks students will reunite with the pair in Lima during summer break. The Brooksians will live with host families, study at Colegio Trener, enjoy field trips and get to know life in Peru!

Weekend Activities
This weekend is jam-packed with excitement: See the full schedule! Saturday night will include a laser tag trip, 3-on-3 basketball tournament, open art studio, skate with a date, bingo with snacks and an open house at the Head of School's residence.
On Sunday, there will be coffee loop trips, a Five Guys trip, a trip to The Loop and one to Lowell to watch some professional women's hockey.

Bestselling author Jessica Begen Galica ’06 invites all female-identifying alumni, current parents and Brooks employees to join her in conversation about the modern realities of women and work on Feb. 28 from 6 to 8:30 p.m.
Galica will share her insights on the biggest challenges that women in corporate roles face today, based on the research behind her book, Leap: Why It’s Time to Let Go to Get Ahead in Your Career, and her personal experience navigating corporate success while stepping into motherhood, followed by a Q&A and open discussion with those in attendance.
