“Congratulations to rowers, coxswains and coaches for excellent finishes and an amazing season,” Director of Athletics emailed the campus community sharing impressive results from crew’s weekend at the New England Interscholastic Rowing Association (NEIRA) Championship at Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester, Mass.: Two first-place finishes (girls 2nd boat, boys 4th boat) and five boats with bronze medals (boys 1st, 2nd, 3rd boats and girls 1st and 3rd boats). The top finishers also "earned bids to Nationals with their outstanding performance.”

Brooks looks forward to celebrating the class of 2026 with the following graduation events, which will be livestreamed for all to enjoy via our Celebrating Commencement page: 

• Donning of the Stoles and Symbols Ceremony (celebrating cultural achievement) on Saturday at 10:30 a.m.
• Lawn Ceremony (prizes are awarded for academic, artistic and athletic achievements to students in all forms) on Saturday at 2 p.m.
• Prize Day (sixth-form students are awarded prizes and diplomas) on Sunday at 10:15 a.m.

Academics

Report Card Release and Transcripts

• Semester 2 Report Cards with grades and advisor comments will be released on June 12 after 12 p.m. Report cards can be found under your child's Progress > Performance profile in OnBrooks. 

• Returning students will have access to their unofficial transcripts after June 18 in OnBrooks.

• Transcripts for graduating sixth-form students will be provided to the College Counseling Office on June 18. The College Counseling Office will transmit one transcript to the institution where the student has submitted their enrollment deposit. For questions about the transcript transmission process for colleges and universities, contact Assistant College Counselor Marianne Consoli. 

• Transcripts for departing students will be transmitted to their new schools from the registrar's office after June 24.

OnBrooks Access

Graduating and departing students and families will have access to OnBrooks to download and/or print current or previous report cards from OnBrooks until June 18 at 10 a.m. Please plan accordingly. Contact Registrar Lisa Saunders with any questions.

Student Life

Grad Boarders: Move-Out Details

Sixth-form boarding students have been encouraged to begin moving some of their belongings home, if possible, beginning this upcoming weekend. All sixth-form students will be required to have their room completely cleaned and signed-off, on May 31 for final move-out. 

The class of 2026 participated in a morning of community service yesterday, volunteering at local organizations including AMC, Clean River Project, Cor Unum Meal Center, Greater Lawrence Boating, Village Food Hub and Windrush Farm.

Upcoming REACH Requests

Students have two upcoming REACH requests to submit. One is required:

• Optional overnight: Students are permitted to depart for the evening on May 29 after their final commitment of the day. For sixth formers, they may depart after the Sixth-Form Induction Dinner and Slide Show on Friday evening, which is a required event. Lower-formers may depart after their required dorm/campus clean at 5:30 p.m. No early dismissals will be permitted. Students involved in the Donning of the Stoles ceremony should be back on campus on Saturday in time for the event, which begins at 10:30 a.m. Other students not involved should expect to be back on Saturday in time for the Lawn Ceremony, which begins at 2 p.m. 

• Required REACH: All boarding students are required to submit their "End of Year" REACH requests for summer vacation.  

Student Activities This Weekend

End-of-Year Attendance

All attendance policies remain in effect through the last day of school programming, regardless of form. Students who hit an attendance threshold will be issued the appropriate accountability measure. For students in the third, fourth or fifth form, that may mean bounds extending into the following academic year. Students on bounds nearing the end of the year may have an opportunity to work off their bounds via service to the community.

Housing Process for Next Year

All returning boarding students have begun the housing-selection process. This phase of the process (submitting their housing preference forms) is supervised by your student's advisor. Housing decisions will be communicated to students in August. Any questions regarding the process should be directed to the advisor.

The sixth form gathered for a hangout at the boathouse last night. As the sun set over Lake Cochichewick, the soon-to-be graduates reminisced by a fire pit and snacked on s'mores.

Move-Out, End-of-Year Expectations

Please review the dorm move-out and end-of-year expectations, as well as the schedule for the third, fourth and fifth forms.

Third-, fourth- and fifth-form students will be permitted to depart for the summer after their last EOL.

Health & Wellness

Health Records

If your student is graduating or will not be returning next year, now is the time to ensure you have all the necessary health records. Most recent physical exams and immunization records can be accessed through the Magnus portal until the end of the school year. After that, records will remain available; however, for students no longer enrolled at Brooks, they must be obtained by contacting the Magnus Health Help Desk at (919) 800-0356. If you have questions or need help accessing records, please contact the Health and Wellness Center.

Athletics

Afternoon Activities and Fall Update

• Clean-up: Locker rooms will be closed today, May 28, for the remainder of the school year. Students should remove all athletic equipment from campus for the summer. Large items may be stored in the wrestling room until departure. 

• Sign-up: Afternoon activity sign-ups are taking place this week for returning students. Students will choose their activities using a form available to them in OnBrooks. View the Requirements and Offerings document for details.

• Plan ahead: Fall season afternoon programs will begin on Friday, September 4, for all students. There will not be a preseason for fall 1st teams this year.

Yesterday's annual Brookstock music festival featuring Brooks' rock bands was a blast!

Business Office

Student Debit Account Balances

• Sixth-form parents: Students' debit account funds should be utilized (purchases in the store or snack bar) or withdrawn (in the Business Office) on or prior to May 29. The Business Office will not be open on Commencement Weekend, May 30-31 and students will be unable to withdraw funds on those dates. Do you have a balance in excess of $200? Contact Director of Financial Operations / Controller Jo-Ann Bevis P'26, P'27 to provide explicit permission for the balance to be withdrawn by your student or to coordinate an alternate method of refund. Balances remaining after May 31 will be converted to a Brooks Fund gift.

• Third-, fourth- and fifth-form parents: Debit account funds are only available for use or withdrawal during the academic year and must be used or withdrawn on or prior to June 5 if you wish to zero-out the account. Debit account funds that are not utilized or withdrawn by June 5 will be carried over to the following school year for use. If your student is not returning, funds must be used or withdrawn prior to June 5. Funds cannot be transferred to another school/account. Non-returning student balances remaining after June 5 will be converted to a Brooks Fund gift.

June/July Billed Charges in Blackbaud Tuition Management

Certain charges are billed in arrears and may appear in your Blackbaud Tuition Management (BBTM) account after the school year has ended. This includes graduating student accounts.

Please be aware that these amounts are due and payable through BBTM when they are billed.

Some of the charges that are billed in arrears include AP exam fees, dry cleaning, music lessons, dorm damage, lost/damaged spring uniforms/equipment, pharmacy charges, etc.
