We hope to see you on May 14 at 5 p.m. for photos by the school flagpole (located behind the new admission building and Thorne House) and then at a reception to follow at approximately 6:15 p.m. in the admission building and patio after the prom-goers have departed for Boston.

AAPI Day and Flag Day Parade
On May 17, the Brooks community will have an amazing day of festivities and activities as we celebrate Asian Americans and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, per our annual tradition. More details about the day will follow, but the centerpiece of this fun event is the Brooks Flag Day Parade, once again making its way down Main Street!

Debit Account Balances
A note from Brooks School's Business Office:

Sixth-form parents: Students' debit account funds should be utilized (purchases in the store or snack bar) or withdrawn (at the mailroom window) on or prior to May 27. The mailroom will not be open on Commencement Weekend, May 28 or 29, and students will be unable to withdraw funds on those dates.

Third-, fourth-, and fifth-form parents: Debit account funds are only available for use or withdrawal during the academic year and must be used or withdrawn on or prior to June 2 if you wish to zero out the account. Debit account funds that are not utilized or withdrawn by June 2 will be carried over to the following school year for use. If you are not returning, funds must be used or withdrawn on or prior to June 2, they cannot be transferred to another school/account.

Weekend Bulletin
Every Thursday at 8 a.m., Student Activities Coordinator Chris Davis emails the community the Weekend Bulletin. According to this morning’s email from Chris, “We have a lot going on this weekend. Come play some Chicago-style softball under the lights at the turf with me - no glove needed. Afterward, there is trivia in the dining hall (the last one of the year), poker in the Keating, and a pancake bar with all the toppings. Creed III will be on early in the evening in the Keating where you could potentially make a Mother's Day gift (yes, it's next week) or just paint for fun. End the night doing your nails at the PBA common room spa (so luxurious)! Trips are heading out to Northshore Mall and H Mart/Burlington along with Target and Mad Maggies.” Thank you to Chris Davis and the rest of the faculty who plan and oversee all of our weekend events!

All-Community Read Event
On May 23 at 7 p.m. in the theater, we have two scientists coming to speak to the community as part of our All-Community Read speaker series inspired by The Midnight Library. Mike Retelle from Bates College and Matt Moore from Tabor Academy will present to the community on climate change and their recent work in Svalbard on an artic study funded by the National Science Foundation. This is a required event for third-, fourth-, and fifth-form students. Members of the general public are welcome, too!

Two Brooks students have been recognized in the Anne Bradstreet Poetry Contest. Jasmine Shi ’24 (above, left) received an award for metaphorical imagination for her poem, "Strings," and Lana Gibbs ’24 (right) was a finalist in the high-school-student competition for her poem, "The Fall." Their work will be published and read aloud in the North Andover Common on May 6!

Hope to See You at This Year's Brookstock!
Brookstock is the grand, outdoor culmination of a semester's worth of work for all our music ensemble classes. You are invited to join us and hear full, spring-term setlists from rock band, advanced rock band, chamber orchestra, festival chorus, jazz band and advanced jazz band, plus a huge combined number from The Brooks Pops (the same 50-something-person ensemble that brought you "All I Want for Christmas Is You" in December) and an exciting debut performance from the Brooks adult rock band! The May 13 event runs from 7 to 9 p.m. and will include food, carnival games, and much more!
