Sixth-Form Parents & Guardians: Important Announcements

  • Upcoming Webinar: Please join Head of School John Packard and other school administrators this Monday evening, April 12, at 7 p.m. EST to hear more about end-of-year planning. If you have inquiries you would like to submit ahead of time, please share your questions here. Join using this direct link to the webinar, which will also be sent via email.

  • We need your Photos! We are looking forward to running our Senior Spotlight Instagram Series once more this year (click on individual names to view) and we need your help to do so! Due April 15(next week!), please take a moment to send an existing photo you'd like us to try to use. Please orient the image vertically and email it directly to Nicole Jackson (select "Actual Size" when emailing). If we do not receive a photo, we will use an existing one from our archives so be sure to send one if you have a preference! We are also asking for any group pictures you might have of your child and their friends throughout their time at Brooks for the annual senior slideshow.

  • Due April 15: Yearbook Ads and Student Pages. Please remind your child to design and submit their senior page. They can find the directions here, via their email, or via the Brooks Yearbook Instagram. If you are interested in purchasing a yearbook tribute ad, click here to begin making your personalized message. These can be silly or serious — how you celebrate your child’s time at Brooks is up to you.
Community Appreciation Event: Raffle Items Needed!
Thank you to those parents who have supported this event thus far -- planning is underway and we are so excited to celebrate the hard work all Brooks employees have put in during this challenging year!

We would love to be able to add to our list of raffle items. In the past, items have included restaurant and coffee shop gift certificates, themed gift baskets (“grill and chill” wine and/or craft beer, “day at the beach” kitchen gadgets/food items), Amazon gift cards, sporting event tickets, experiences, spa services . . . however, no gift is too small and anything is appreciated! If you are not local but would like to help, you can also provide a donation which a parent will use to purchase an item at one of our many great local businesses. If you are interested in providing an item or donation, please be in touch with Jeannie Sullivan P’22 or Nicole Jackson

Thank you in advance for your support in making this day a special one for Brooks employees!
Sunday Family Visits
As noted in John Packard’s letter yesterday, there will be three opportunities for outdoor Sunday family visits to campus this spring, the first being April 25. To ensure the safety of the Brooks community and balance the number of families on campus at one time, please share your visit intentions with us by using this SignUp Genius form. Please note: There is space for 25 families in each 30-minute window.
Cum Laude
The annual induction ceremony for the Cum Laude Society will take place on April 29 at 11 a.m. EST, via livestream from the Frank D. Ashburn Chapel. Students who have been nominated for induction have already been notified by Dean of Academic Affairs Susanna Waters. We look forward to celebrating the academic achievements of our senior scholars together! Please save the date to join us online. A link to follow will be shared in next week’s parent newsletter as well as emailed directly to inductees' families.
Upcoming International Family Calls
Head of School John Packard invites our international families in Asia to connect via Zoom. He will share updates on the spring semester and hopes to hear about your experiences this past year. Please check your inbox for the email with details and your Zoom link. We hope you will join us!

  • April 15: China/Hong Kong (8 p.m. Beijing Time)
  • April 22: South Korea (8 p.m. Korea Standard Time)
The Final Stretch for Brooks Together
We have two more weeks to go for Brooks Together! Thank you to all of our families who have made gifts to Brooks to date. We are very grateful for your support, and it is having an immediate impact for our students and faculty. Please reach out to Director of Annual Giving and Donor Relations Mary Merrill if you have any questions or to make your gift.
Scholastic National Award Winners
Two Brooks School student artists were recently recognized with a National Silver Medal for Excellent Work in Photography by Scholastic Art and Writing Awards: Tvisha Devireddy ’23 for "Enigma” (shown above) and Tri Nguyen ‘22 for “20:30, Wandering in the Shadows“ (shown below).

Devireddy worked with Media Arts Teacher Max Nagel in Photography I this fall while Nguyen created his own year-long independent study in Advanced Photography. The Arts Department is incredibly proud of these emerging artists and thrilled to know both will continue to engage in the creative process in the years to come.
