FCD provides substance abuse prevention education to students around the world and has been well-received by Brooks students for years. The FCD educator will work with the fourth form during their Self in Community classes and will address the community in other forums as well. If you have any questions, please contact Director of Psychological Counseling Judy Werner .
AP Exam Registration Procedure
New this year, The College Board has changed AP exam registration and ordering procedures. Students now register directly online in their AP classes, and exams will be ordered by Associate Head for Academic Affairs Lance Latham, the school's AP coordinator, by Nov. 15 -- not in the spring as in past years. All students enrolled in an AP course are expected to take the appropriate AP exam in May. Billing will still occur in the spring. Each exam costs $94. Ordering exams after Nov. 15 and before the final deadline of Mar. 13 incurs an additional late fee of $40 per exam. Students wishing to take an AP exam for a course we do not offer here at Brooks should be directed to Lance Latham : (978) 725-6252 as soon as possible. He will also be the contact for parents with questions about AP exam policies and procedures.

The Parent Health and Wellness Corner
On Sept. 24, Director of Health Services Tracey Costantino MS, FNP-BC, did a presentation to the entire student body on vaping. The information seemed well received. (Click to watch the presentation ).

This week the number of vaping related deaths in the US has reached nine. We also learned that Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker declared a public health emergency, announcing a temporary four-month ban on sale of all vape products.

We recognize that vaping has reached epidemic levels among our youth, and Brooks School will continue to educate our community about the effects and risks of vaping devices. Students struggling with issues of vaping can receive confidential support through the Health and Wellness Center.

We urge parents to partner with us by educating themselves, as well as talking with their child about vaping and its effects:
