New Vegetable Teaching Garden at Brunner
If you have been to Brunner Farmhouse and Gardens lately, you may have noticed the beginnings of an exciting project brewing on the north side of the farmhouse. Made possible by a generous sponsorship from Olson Outdoors, the Broomfield Master Gardeners and Brunner Farmhouse are partnering to create a raised bed vegetable garden that will be used for community education, outreach and applied research. The garden was designed as a hands on learning space for all ages and abilities.
You can be among the first to walk through the vegetable garden on Aug. 15 at BCAH’s Summer Sunday Festival. Broomfield Master Gardeners will be giving garden tours and planting the first seeds from 4-6 p.m., with a concert by the Metropolitan Jazz Orchestra with the Beverly Belles from 6-8 p.m., and lots of fun and food between!

CSU Will Open New Denver Campus in 2022
|
Colorado State University is counting the days before opening the first of three buildings at its new Spur campus, part of the 250-acre redevelopment project at the National Western Center in north Denver.
CSU’s first building, Vida, will open in January 2022 with a focus on animal and human health. Terra, a building focused on food and agriculture, will partially open in January and be fully open by April 2022; and the Hydro building, focusing on water research, policy, and innovation, opens in November 2022.
“CSU Spur will be home to science, policy, innovation, and research on display – anyone who visits Spur will see science and scientists in action,” said Jocelyn Hittle, assistant vice chancellor of CSU Spur and special projects for CSU System. “Starting in January, youth and families can see in real time what it means to be a professional working on big global challenges—and know that they can have a role to play—all while experiencing fun, hands-on education.”
The reimagined National Western Center will continue to host the National Western Stock Show each year, but it will also be a year-round destination for concerts, conferences, farmers markets, and more.
