Colorado State University is counting the days before opening the first of three buildings at its new Spur campus, part of the 250-acre redevelopment project at the National Western Center in north Denver.

CSU’s first building, Vida, will open in January 2022 with a focus on animal and human health. Terra, a building focused on food and agriculture, will partially open in January and be fully open by April 2022; and the Hydro building, focusing on water research, policy, and innovation, opens in November 2022.

“CSU Spur will be home to science, policy, innovation, and research on display – anyone who visits Spur will see science and scientists in action,” said Jocelyn Hittle, assistant vice chancellor of CSU Spur and special projects for CSU System. “Starting in January, youth and families can see in real time what it means to be a professional working on big global challenges—and know that they can have a role to play—all while experiencing fun, hands-on education.”

CSU also has announced that a new face-to-face Master of Agribusiness and Food Innovation Management program will be hosted at the Spur campus beginning Fall 2022.

The reimagined National Western Center will continue to host the National Western Stock Show each year, but it will also be a year-round destination for concerts, conferences, farmers markets, and more.
