Public Health Update
  • Broomfield has 2,449 total COVID-19 cases, according to the most recent data. You can always find daily updates on Broomfield’s COVID-19 Data Dashboard, along with information on regional hospital capacity and demographic details. Visit the state website for more information on hospital capacity, outbreaks and county case information. The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) website updates cases daily at 4 p.m.
Free COVID-19 Testing is available Tuesdays and Thursdays in Broomfield.

All ages are welcome, but if you are 15 or younger, a guardian must be present and consent. No identification or insurance information is required.

Please note, testing on Tuesday, Dec. 15 will close at 4:30 p.m. due to anticipated inclement weather.
Appointments are required and can be made at Broomfield.org/COVIDTesting. Appointment slots are released 24 hours before the events. The appointment includes testing for everyone in your vehicle who is symptomatic and lives, works or goes to school in Broomfield. Visit Broomfield.org/COVIDTesting for information on Broomfield’s Community Testing events and to find other testing options.
  • A 14-day quarantine must be completed if you are exposed to someone with COVID-19, and a minimum of 10-day isolation must be completed if you tested positive. These test results cannot be used as documentation for airline travel or to return to work in lieu of a 14-day quarantine or 10-day isolation.   • Changes to the State’s Dial operation restrictions went into effect Monday, Dec. 7, including:
  • Houses of worship added to the list of "critical businesses" that can operate without capacity limits.
  • Bars offering curbside pick-up, takeout and delivery no longer being required to sell food during this time.
  • Allowances for museums, aquariums, and zoos to open indoors for educational functions up to 25% or 25 people per room, whichever is fewer.
  • The Broomfield Depot Museum will reopen Saturday, Jan. 9 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Please note: Masks are still required indoors, along with keeping 6 feet of space between households and washing/sanitizing hands. Outdoor activities are still strongly preferred.

The arrival of the COVID-19 vaccine Colorado is a life-saving milestone to ending the pandemic. As distribution begins, please keep in mind the State of Colorado has created a phased distribution plan that will ensure the most lives are saved and this pandemic is ended as quickly as possible.

Council icon
City Council will convene tomorrow night, December 15. View the agenda. Public participation via telephone will open at approximately 6 p.m. by calling 1.855.695.3744 and pressing star 3 (*3) to be placed in the queue. Written comments are requested to be sent in advance to council@broomfieldcitycouncil.org. This meeting will be presented live on the City Council website Broomfield.org/CityCouncil and through your local television, Channel 8.
Telephone Town Hall: Join the Telephone Town Hall Thursday, Dec. 17 at 7 p.m. Residents can call 855.695.3744 the night of, or sign up to be called directly. RSVP and share the Facebook event for updates. Town Hall audio is streamed live on Channel 8 as well. If you are not able to make it, listen to the available recordings.
City Updates
  • The Special Legislative Session created ten bills bringing $280 million of relief to Coloradans impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, including:
  •  Business support grants for child care providers, arts and cultural organizations, bars and restaurants, and minority-owned businesses
  •  Resident support grants for mortgage, rent, and utility bill payments
  •  Non-profit support grants for food pantry assistance
  •  Educational support grants to expand broadband access for K-12 students, teachers, and districts that rely on remote learning

  • The 2021 Spring Program Guide is here! The 2021 Spring Broomfield Program Guide will hit mailboxes starting Dec. 16. This version of the beloved program guide covers the wide variety of offerings from the City and County of Broomfield available even during COVID-19 public health restrictions. Check it out online and discover all the great things Broomfield has to offer.   • The pump track in Anthem Community Park is closed from Dec. 14 through late spring due to construction. The Broomfield Bike Park will be open during this time, weather permitting.

  • #CozierWithoutCOVID - Holidays are cozier without COVID-19! Create new traditions to keep your family safe. Go for a family drive and check out the holiday light displays using Broomfield’s Light Up Broomfield Map! Appreciate your neighbor’s hard work all while staying physically distant (and warm) inside your car. Remember to keep the passengers to members of your family.

  • Avoid holiday travel and opt for virtual celebrations
  • Wear a mask whenever you leave the house
  • Shop for gifts online and have them delivered or pick them up curbside. Be sure to take the #ChooseLocalChallenge!
  • Share your new holiday traditions with us with the hashtag #WeAreBroomfield
  • Coyote Safety - Always be aware, even in colder months, that wildlife is out on the trails with you and your pets. Coyotes are common throughout Broomfield, even in residential neighborhoods. To avoid conflicts with wildlife please be aware and stay vigilant. For additional information, see the Coyote FAQ or check out our website for more information.

  • Cozy up on the couch or at your desk for some free drawing lessons! Check out a list of free drawing tutorials to help develop your artistic skills.
Featured Programs & Classes
  • Dial-a-Carol - Starting Dec. 19, residents can call 720-887-2329 and choose from a selection of nine holidays songs to hear on demand. Cultural Affairs and Library staff are working with students from Lisa Walecki’s voice studio, JBMusic, Aster Women’s Chamber Choir, and Opera on Tap Colorado to offer this new program.
  • Winter Take & Make and Winter Library Adventures will be available December 12-31 while supplies last. Patrons can pick up kits from the Children’s Library Desk, Reference desk, or request them at curbside pickup. New activities will be launched every Saturday. Visit BRex to sign up and visit the first floor of the library to see completed kits.
  • Winter Library Adventures is a reading/activities challenge for all ages! Everyone who registers will get a free Broomfield Chipper's Lanes pass to pick up. Learn more and register beginning Dec. 12.
  • ZOOMING Around the Christmas Tree - Santa is making special Zoom calls to Broomfield boys and girls, ages 2-8, from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday. Families can register on B-Rex for a 5-minute virtual visit with Santa. Have all the kids ready to gather around the computer to say "Hi" to Santa and remember to snap a screenshot!

  • Holiday Lunch - Pick up a delicious holiday meal on Friday, Dec. 18 for just $5. Register at B-REx.com or by calling 303.464.5536. To pick up meals, people will drive through the BCC parking lot between 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. (entering the main entrance and following the signs.).This program is completely separate from the Broomfield Meals on Wheels program.
  • Recycle Your Holiday Tree - During the Holiday season, the City and County of Broomfield has eight collection sites throughout the City where your holiday tree can be dropped off and recycled. Sites will remain open through Wednesday, Jan.13, 2021. Learn more, including hours of operation and details on what is accepted.
