- The City and County of Broomfield has moved to Level Orange effective Monday, Jan. 4 as directed by the Governor, and due to your continued diligence to slow the spread of COVID-19. Stop the spread & stay out of red by continuing to follow the 4 Ws: wear a mask, wash your hands, watch your distance, wait on gatherings.
- What changes in Level Orange?
- Increased access to the Paul Derda Recreation Center, Broomfield Community Center, Broomfield Library, and Broomfield Auditorium!
- Indoor restaurant seating and indoor events, up to to 25% capacity or 50 people per room, whichever is fewer. Last call will be 10 p.m., and bars that do not serve food will remain closed.
- Personal services and gyms/fitness centers open up to 25% capacity, or up to 25 people per room, whichever is fewer.
- Gatherings can be increased to ten people or less, from no more than two households max.
- Retail able to operate at 50% capacity.
- Office-based businesses up to 25% capacity.
- Indoor and outdoor events can resume at 25% capacity, up to 50 people indoors and 75 people outdoors.
- The City and County of Broomfield is still operating under the COVID 19 Dial Public Health Order. As such, if the data dictates, the State could impose more restrictive measures if unintended spikes occur from holiday gatherings, the newly discovered B.1.1.7 variant — which we know spreads more rapidly than the COVID-19 possibly leading to more infections/hospitalizations, and the approaching re-openings of businesses and schools.

|
- How this impacts the Back to Business Certification Program:
- Businesses are encouraged to continue applying for Back to Business Certification at Broomfield.org/BacktoBusiness to be eligible to move one level lower on the Dial than the county at each step.
- The first round of businesses will be able to operate under “Level Orange: High Risk,” until Broomfield reaches two weeks of level-orange metrics, which could be as soon as Jan. 11, based on the data.

New Year, New W!
- The Surgeon General added a fourth “W” to the short-list of easy and effective preventative measures (3W’s) to help prevent the spread of COVID-19: “Wait on gatherings.” Even as restrictions are lessened, please avoid gathering with people outside of your household as much as possible. Continue to socialize virtually and/or physically distanced with masks, and 2021 will be healthy and happy New Year!
COVID-19 Vaccine Updates
- Gov. Jared Polis has announced changes to the COVID-19 vaccine distribution timeline, including moving Coloradans ages 70+ into Phase 1B. Currently, Broomfield Public Health is not a public vaccination site, but is coordinating vaccine distribution to reach health care providers and first responders. As additional doses are distributed to Broomfield, vaccinations to other priority populations within Phase 1B will be administered. View updates on vaccination distribution, availability and resources at Broomfield.org/COVIDVaccine.
- Residents can learn when the vaccine becomes available to their phase by entering information into a "Vaccine Interest" form.
