Featured COVID-19 Vaccine Clinics
  • All Coloradans 16+ are now eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine! While this is a great step towards vaccinating all people, please remember that vaccinating everyone will take time, and everyone who wants a vaccine will be able to get one. While the community is working towards vaccination, please remember to follow the 4W’s, wearing your mask, watching your distance, washing your hands, and waiting on large gatherings. 
  • Make an appointment to receive a COVID-19 vaccine at a vaccine clinics hosted by the City and County of Broomfield:
  • Thornton Fire Clinic on Wednesday, April 14. Appointments are required and are expected to be released tomorrow, April 13. Please make an appointment.
  • The 1STBANK Center Clinic on Tuesday, April 20 is a second-dose clinic. Check Broomfield.org/COVIDVaccine later this week to see if Broomfield will host an additional first-dose clinic next week.

Keeping Kids Safe and Tips on Socializing
  • In March, Broomfield youth ages 10-19 had the highest number of cases in the past four months: 94 cases in March compared to 50 in February. Learn how parents can keep kids safe.
  • How do we get together while waiting on widespread vaccination? Remember it could take two to six weeks to be fully vaccinated depending on the type of vaccine received. Follow these steps to socialize smarter.

  • Want to be alerted of local COVID-19 vaccine events? Text “CCOB” to 994-11 for notifications about upcoming COVID-19 vaccine clinics via text or sign up for email alerts.
  • If you have questions about vaccine distribution or safety, please call the state's hotline at 1.877.268.2926. Trained call center operators can give information in multiple languages.
Upcoming Events
  • City Council will convene tomorrow night, April 13. View the agenda. Public participation via telephone will open at approximately 6 p.m. by calling 1.855.695.3744 and pressing star 3 (*3) to be placed in the queue. Written comments are requested to be sent in advance to [email protected]. This meeting will be presented live on the City Council website Broomfield.org/CityCouncil and through your local television, Channel 8 (Comcast customers only).
  • Telephone Town Hall: Mark your calendar for the Telephone Town Hall on April 22 at 7 p.m., which will also now be offered in Spanish. Residents can call 855.695.3744 the night of, or sign up to be called directly. RSVP and share the Facebook event for updates. Town Hall audio is streamed live on Channel 8 as well. If you are not able to make it, listen to the available recordings.

City Updates
  • Broomfield’s Spring Cleanup will begin for Area 1 on Saturday, April 17! During Spring Cleanup, residents can dispose of large, non-hazardous items that trash haulers do not normally pick up at NO CHARGE! Identify your area, view the list of acceptable items and learn more about properly disposing of household waste at Broomfield.org/SpringCleanUp.
  • Apply to join the Broomfield Police Teen Academy! The Teen Academy is a fun and interactive way for local teens to learn about the department, it's divisions and experience what it's like to be a police officer. Applications are available at the Broomfield Police Department, 7 DesCombes Drive, or email [email protected]. Broomfield-area school students will be given preference. Applicants must be between 16-18 years of age and the deadline to apply is May 15 and the program will take place June 7-11.
  • Broomfield City Council approved the Land Use Review Commission and Neighborhood Board of Adjustment positions and appointed eight members to each board! Thank you to the dedicated and talented residents who volunteered to serve on these new boards. 
  • Enhance Broomfield is still accepting applications. The program has $233,000 in available funding for local businesses. Since April 1, 2020, Broomfield has provided over $1.1M in direct grant support, along with technical and operational support to Broomfield small businesses.
  • Register for the Boulder County US 287 Bus Rapid Transit Feasibility Study second virtual public meeting to explore multimodal improvements on US Highway 287, on Wed., April 14 at 6 p.m.
  • Broomfield was awarded a “Tree City USA” designation for the 32nd year!

Broomfield business owners Mark and Cindy Lamontagne were presented a nearly $12,000 check from Denver7 Give.

The couple has operated Burritos To Go since 2004 and in February, the station shared the family’s story of struggle to keep the business afloat during the pandemic.

Activities to do From Home
  • Get ready for Broomfield’s Spring Cleanup and spruce up your home by following these spring-cleaning checklists.
Featured Programs & Classes
  • Become an Eagle Nest watcher and join a dedicated team of Broomfield volunteers monitoring the development of Eagle offspring - from nest building and incubation to hatching and fledgling, gathering critical data necessary to better understand the resident eagles.   • Drop-In Access at City Facilities:
  • Recreation Center: Cardio/Weight Room use is now available for drop-in use, without an appointment at the Paul Derda Recreation Center and the Broomfield Community Center. Appointments are still required for Group Fitness Classes, Healthy Hearts, Pickleball, Gymnasium, Pool, and Child Watch. Appointments are now available two weeks in advance on an ongoing basis.
  • All participants 14 and under for any appointment must be accompanied by an adult or an individual over 14 years old.
  • Please remember masks are still required indoors at Broomfield facilities as well as physical distancing.
  • inventHQ: inventHQ is now available for drop-in use without an appointment! For more information visit Broomfield.org/inventHQ.
