Brother Joe, as he was affectionately known on campus, arrived in Bethlehem for the first time in 1975. For 35 years (with the exception of a few years), he served at Bethlehem University as teacher, President, Vice Chancellor, dean, and in recent years as tutor, mentor, advocate for disabled and needy students, and greeter of thousands of visitors.
It was under the leadership of Brother Joe that the faculty of the University was expanded and the deanships were established. He also was instrumental in the creation of the Faculty of Nursing and Health Sciences, which is among the University's most successful programs. The graduates of the Faculty of Nursing have an almost 100% employment rate and bring quality healthcare to a community very much in need of healing. He was a recognizable presence at the University until 2017 when he moved to De La Salle Hall in Lincroft, New Jersey.

Brother Joe will join a number of benefactors who will be invested as Patrons of the Bethlehem University Foundation during the reception on April 5th.

Established in 2016 by the Board of Directors of the Bethlehem University Foundation, the Patrons are individuals or couples who invest themselves in the work of the Foundation by making a qualifying gift to the Annual Fund of the Bethlehem University Foundation.

The titles Legacy Patron and Honorary Patron are bestowed by resolution of the Board of the Foundation on those individuals or couples who have provided unique or enduring support for the work of the Bethlehem University Foundation. The Patrons serve in an advisory capacity to the Executive Director of the Foundation.

The Patrons have been underwritten by the generosity of Dr. Samir and Mrs. Mary Abu-Ghazaleh. To learn more about the Patrons of the Bethlehem University Foundation, please click here .
