Last year we announced limited capability to have M-STEP data flow from MDE to the Michigan Data Hub. At that time, the data was limited to Spring 2016 and Spring 2017 data. We are pleased to announce, thanks to the development efforts of MDE, we have now tested the transfer of Spring 2018 and Spring 2019 data into each of the 5 data hubs.
With the success of that work, districts will now be able to get current data for all the students they have in their districts. That data can then flow to other systems as those systems are able to access the data. One huge benefit is that data for newly enrolled students will be available the next day, providing more timely access to that information for new students. Additionally, we have tested the data hub dashboards to ensure that data is calculating and displaying properly in that system, and everything is working properly.
MiDataHub staff will begin gradually re-enabling districts who were already on the M-STEP Assessment service. This will occur over the next few weeks, and if all is successful, we will publish a follow-up article with instructions for new districts to turn on that service.
