Beta Pilot Districts Selected
The following districts have been selected as Beta Pilot Districts for the MiRead application:
  • Menominee Area Public Schools
  • Oakridge Public Schools
  • Westwood Heights School District
  • Boyne Falls School District

Notifications of selection were sent out today, Wednesday January 23, 2019.

The MiRead statewide team will be connecting with districts over the next ten days to schedule their implementation, complete technical setup, strategies selection, and launch of MiRead over the next two months. 

Feedback from the Beta group along with Alpha districts will provide critical feedback on the MiRead application; it’s features, operation, and the implementation process.

Registration for use of MiRead in the fall of 2019 is anticipated to be released in April 2019.

MiRead will be presenting a breakout session at the 2019 MASA Midwinter Conference .

Coming Soon: New Vendor & Initiative Catalog
Miss the days of the Sears Catalog? Flipping through the pages of colorful images and rich descriptions before making a decision on what works best in your house? As the number of partnerships grows, MiDataHub has outgrown our GoogleSheet list of vendors and is moving to a catalog that will give you more detail about all of our vendors and the initiatives we are working on.
This new catalog will be:
  • Easier to read
  • Searchable
  • Detailed with product descriptions, integrations, and contact information
The Data Hub Team is aware that Eidex is in the process of releasing a new tool called Prism , which imports data from the Data Hubs via an API Integration. From the Data Hub perspective, we are providing the supports to assist districts with populating the data Eidex is requesting from you, both in a proactive and reactive mode, as needed by schools.
If you are currently using Eidex, and eventually their Prism tool and need any assistance with the process of publishing the historical data per Eidex please drop an email to support@midatahub.org . We have had a heavy volume of requests and are doing our best to stay on top of each as they arrive.
A few initial steps are detailed below that will jumpstart the process on your end to get the required data elements (all the way back to 2015-16) populated:
Step 1: Previous Year ODS Containers
By default, the 2015-16 and 2016-17 ODS containers are not available for publishing data. We ask that you send an email to support@midatahub.org requesting the previous years ODS containers to be published in your Data Hub. This will generate a ticket for our infrastructure manager to deploy. The turnaround is anywhere from a day or two at the most. You will be notified upon the creation of the ODS containers. Once they are generated they will need to be populated with at least a student > School association level data within 7 days or they will be automatically deleted and you will have to request them to be created again. Typically, once your student enrollments have been loaded you will have met that requirement.
Step 2: Creating the API Integration
Creating the API integration with Eidex should only take about 5 minutes to complete (or less). You will need to have access to your school's Michigan Data Hub Cockpit, and have someone available in your district that can access Eidex. I included a link to our documentation of the process of creating the API integration with Eidex below:
Step 3:Publishing Data
The support team is here to help navigate you through the process and provide any guidance with ensuring your data is published successfully to the Eidex-Prism system. We have numerous SIS configuration documents located on our website, located at https://www.midatahub.org/documentation/vendor-support-information/ to help streamline the integration process for you. If you are prompted with not having permission to a configuration guide, request access and the support team will provide access.
