Launching MiLaunchPad.org
Historically, users of the Michigan Data Hub would access MiDataHub and it’s supported applications by navigating to our website, www.midatahub.org , and selecting the “Log In” button at the top-right of the screen, or by manually typing launchpad.midatahub.org into their browser.

While those two methods will continue to work, we have re-branded the MiDataHub Launchpad as a separate initiative of its own, called MiLaunchPad.

MiLaunchpad and the federated MiDataHub Single Sign-On (SSO) are quickly becoming a way for students and staff to access a broad array of applications throughout the state.  Systems using the MiLaunchPad now, and in the coming year, include MiRead, MiStrategyBank, MiEWIMS, and Michigan’s new Integrated Continuous Improvement Plan (MICIP) platform. MiLaunchPad is the authentication system for district staff to access MICIP.

With this expanding scope of resources that can be at the fingertips of K12 users, the launchpad merited consideration as its own brand.  You can find the new page at https://milaunchpad.org

Launch yourself into something great!

For information on setting your district up with MiLaunchPad, visit: the MiLaunchPad SSO product catalog page on the MiDataHub Website.

MiDataHub Upgrade for the 2020-21 SY
Many districts have inquired about publishing data for the upcoming school year.  While it is possible to use existing functionality to populate the 2020-21 school year in our current environment, we are working to upgrade to Ed-Fi v3.1.1 by early August . Where possible, we ask that districts hold off on sending data for the new school year until that upgrade is complete . We are anticipating that there will be a webinar for each SIS vendor to detail out any changes in sending data for the new year. (Check future newsletters for more details)

If there is a need to utilize integration functionality prior to that upgrade, it is possible to create the 2020-21 ODS in your existing data hub by using the ODS Management facility.
To do that, follow the steps below:
  1. Log into MiDataHub and navigate to your district landing page.
  2. Click on Utilities>ODS Management
  3. Choose the last radio button choice to Create a New ODS for your district.
  4. Enter in 2020-2021 for the new school year and click on Submit.
  5. Your new ODS should be ready within 15 minutes. Once it shows in the “Current School Year” drop down in the district landing page, you should be able to begin sending data from your SIS.
  6. Please note that you may need to redo the sending process once the Ed-Fi v3.1.1 environment is in place.
