SAS EVAAS Update
We have had a wonderful response from districts signing up for the integration to use the SAS EVAAS tool. As we’ve worked to bring districts onboard, there are a few items that have come to light:

The first is that SAS really needs 2017-18 data in order to provide teacher reports based on last year’s data. Most SIS systems allow for data to be configured and sent to MiDataHub for prior years. Please email support@midatahub.org if you need assistance in configuring and sending prior year data.

The second item is that the link SAS provided for districts to submit their connection information looks for the existence of 2017-18 data. Those who have experienced errors in sending connection details, it is likely due to this reason.

For more information on the SAS EVAAS connection, you can visit the MiDataHub website at https://www.midatahub.org/documentation/vendor-support-information/sas-evaas/ or visit the SAS EVAAS website at: https://mi.sas.com/contact.html

State Reporting & Dashboard Testing Pilots
Meetings and work have started for two testing initiatives in MiDataHub, both of which will take place over the next 3-4 months with multiple districts statewide.

State Reporting
The state reporting testing will begin on Friday, November 9th with a kickoff meeting and will include districts from across the state (one per student information system). The kickoff meeting will be the precursor to the actual testing but an opportunity for districts involved in the pilot to understand the process, length of testing, district expectations, and outcomes. During this meeting we will walk through the testing scenario including how we will be verifying the integrity of data in the data hubs, working with vendors, and providing/receiving feedback from the districts on how the process can be enhanced.

Dashboard Testing
In an effort to ramp up the functionality and use of the MiDataHub dashboards, a small group of districts (one per Student Information System) along with Double Line Partners (DLP) and MiDataHub staff, had a testing kickoff meeting last week to walk through the testing scenarios, outcomes of testing, and next steps. Testing in the dashboards will include verifying the integrity of data displayed on dashboards, attendance, validation of reports, and the length of time for testing.
MiDataHub Functionality Updates
We are launching this new section to provide a weekly update on new features released in the last week and those coming in the next 1-2 weeks.

Database/API:
Cascading updates and deletions were changed on several entities to allow easier manipulation of data in the hub. Extensions were added for Career Cruising and Aimsweb to allow for capture and reporting for these datasets. Database changes were made to our one roster views to allow for more stable return of data.

Dashboard:
We added objective level rendering for the M-Step assessment and adjusted security to allow for broader use of the intervention catalog.

Upcoming changes:
As always we will be working to correct any know errors or issues. We’ll be modifying the assessment importer to update the M-Step objectives to their descriptions instead of their code values. We’ll also be adding functionality to the UIC lookup process, requested by SIS vendors, which will allow for easier bulk processing.
