As we work to complete the challenging goal of 100% district adoptions by next September,
a little over a year from now, it is exciting that we are nearing completion of a number of milestones. Nearly 1.2 million student’s worth of data was loaded for the 2018-19 school year, getting us much closer to the roughly 1.5 million students in Michigan. We are working to complete integrations in 3 more ISD regions, after which we will have at least one integrated district in every ISD. The usage of MiDataHub can be gauged in terms of number of integrations in use. At present, we are right about at 3,000 integrations, with expectations that we will be over 5,000 by the end of the 2019-20 school year. Finally, the use of our single sign-on is growing. By the start of school, over 100 districts will be able to use their own district logins to access MiDataHub and related resources. That number is expected to grow to over 250 by the end of the school year.
We want to take a moment to thank all of those who have been involved in making this happen. Staff from ISDs and districts have spent their hard-to-come-by time and effort to complete and maintain these connections. Interoperability, the ability for systems to communicate and share data with each other, is a difficult thing to achieve. The good news is that this work is becoming easier as SIS vendors improve their integrations to populate MiDataHub, as others provide additional data that supplements what comes from the SIS, and as an increased number of vendors have systems that use the information. We look forward to continued growth and improvement in the 2019-20 school year and beyond.
