February is American Heart Month, a time when everyone is encouraged to focus on their cardiovascular health. Broward County is a strong supporter of this effort. If you have a family history of heart disease, or have high cholesterol or blood pressure, you are a potential candidate for a FREE heart test to diagnose possible problems. Funded by the Broward County Commission, this test is for residents 45 to 70 years old with active health insurance. The cardiac CT screening, being administered by local hospitals, can identify plaque and blockages or narrowing of the coronary arteries.
