A Conversation With

Kwame Alexander

Join us for an evening of inspiration and conversation with bestselling and award-winning children’s and young adult author and poet, Kwame Alexander, author of the Newbery Award-winning book, The Crossover, Newbery Honor/Caldecott Medal-winning book, The Undefeated, The Door of No Return, and most recently, An American Story, for an Illinois Libraries Present event for young people and their families.


This virtual event on Zoom is free and open to the public, but registration is required.

NEW Reading Challenge

Fall in love with reading this February! Log your reading throughout the challenge to earn badges all month long. Read 450 pages to complete this challenge.

1000 Books Before Kindergarten

The 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten ongoing program encourages you to read 1,000 books to your child before they enter kindergarten. Just read 3 books a day for 1 year and it will add up to over 1,000 books. The guidelines are simple: Every time you finish a book, log in to Beanstack to record it.

Adult Book Bundles

Book Bundles are a way for you to get 3 hand-selected books based on your reading interests. When you check out a Bundle you’re checking out each book and they can be returned separately. Keep what you’re enjoying and return anything else at your convenience.

Family Book Box

It's time for Valentines's Day Family Book Boxes! Each Book Box will include 4 hand-selected children's picture books and a fun treat. Read the books and keep the treat

These Boxes are made for Teens (grades 7th-12th), Middle Schoolers (grades 4th-6th), and Elementary (grades 1st - 3rd). Each Book Box will include a book based on your reading preferences, fun treats, and a survey card.

StoryTime

Join us every Wednesday at 10 AM for StoryTime! Each week we have a different theme that we focus on as we listen to stories, sing songs, make a craft and play with toys.


StoryTime is a program for children birth to 5 years old and their caregivers to interact together with books to help build early literacy.

Book Club

Our monthly Book Club's February pick is "Summer Island'" by Kristin Hannah. Come ask for a copy at the library front desk to read along. Even if you haven't read this month's book come to enjoy talking about books with fellow readers.

Afternoon Craft Corner

Stop by the library each of these days after school to make a craft to take home with you!


This is a free program for all ages. 

Lego Club

Come create with Legos twice this month! We provide the Legos you provide the creativity! Participants can try our monthly build challenge or free build.



This is a free program for those in grades 1st - 8th and no registration is required to attend.

Hoopla can be used as a mobile app or on a web browser. Just simply log in with your library card number and PIN to have instant access to digital books, music, movies, and more. Check out 4 instant borrows every month.

Libby is the one-tap reading app from our library where you can borrow ebooks and digital audiobooks for free. You can stream books with Wi-Fi or mobile data, or download them for offline use and read anytime, anywhere. All you need to get started is a library card.
