Superwash wool that's soft and durable. Here's Brown Sheep's Stratosphere in the kettle dyed called color Galaxy, a blend of gray tones with subtle touches of taupe. Stratosphere is soft but not slippery like some of the super wash wool that is available. 

Our knit sample used three needle sizes -- US #6, #7, #8. We like the spring of the knitting, no matter the needle size. A set of AddiClick interchangeable needles makes swatching with various needle sizes a snap. You just click and attach the size you need and keep knitting.

I knit this swatch as I was planning to knit the Foxtrot Cardigan by Marie Greene. The swatch shows the stitch pattern for the wavy lace of her design. Eventually I used a gold color for the cardigan that I knit, but looking at my Stratosphere swatch now makes me itch to knit another Foxtrot in this Galaxy color!

Stratosphere is available in solid colors and in kettle dyed shades. It is a 3-ply DK weight and can be machine washed for easy care. Brown Sheep sources their wool from the US. NOTE: We just placed an order for more colors of both the kettle dyed and the solids, so if you don't see a color you want now, check back in a few weeks.

Consider this DK yarn for your next cardigan or shawl. A 100 gram skein has 260 yards -- really good yardage!
