Welcome to the Neighborhood!

Happy New Year! If you've previously received the Neighborhood News, you haven't heard from us through this newsletter for a while. If this is your first issue, Welcome! This quarterly newsletter is intended to give helpful information to local realtors who are serving our community and potential Brownsburg school families. You are welcome to share any of the information in this newsletter with your clients and colleagues and contact me anytime you have questions about our schools.

Brownsburg is a very desirable community for families with school-aged kids. Every school in Brownsburg earned an A and a 4-Star rating from the Indiana Department of Education (IDOE). For the NINTH consecutive year, every Brownsburg School earned an A from the IDOE. No matter where you live in Brownsburg, your child can attend an exceptional school.

Brownsburg Students Continue to Excel In Person

Brownsburg Community School Corporation has met for in-person instruction since July 30, 2020. Families were given the option to participate in At Home Learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. That decision could have been made in the first quarter, before the start of the second quarter and at the semester break. While just over 10% of students are taking classes with BCSC teachers online, almost 90% are in-person five days a week.

BCSC athletics and co-curricular programs are continuing with safety protocols in place. This fall was a very successful one for the Bulldogs with five fall sports bringing home a sectional championship - boys and girls soccer, boys and girls cross country, and boys tennis. The BHS boys tennis team went on to win its first-ever semi state championship in 2020.

BCSC Boundary Maps

The Brownsburg Community School Corporation registrar uses these boundary maps as a guide to determine school placement for new students. For new construction, the BCSC Board of School Trustees will consider a recommendation of school placement for the neighborhood from the BCSC Administration. This recommendation is based on data to balance enrollment in our schools. K & New Student Enrollment for the 2021-2022 School Year Opens February 1st.

Students who are new to Brownsburg Schools for the upcoming school year (in Kindergarten and other grades) and returning Preschool students can enroll online STARTING FEBRUARY 1, 2021. A registration link will be available on the BCSC website on February 1st.

BHS Construction Completed

The Brownsburg High School construction that began in the fall of 2016 was completed during the summer of 2020. Realtors attending the February MIBOR Hendricks County Division breakfast meeting will be able to see the new construction first-hand. The expanded corridors, cafeteria, and auditorium will accommodate Brownsburg's continued growth. The project added 26 new classrooms and renovated and expanded 70 classrooms.
