We Have a Winner!
Announcing the Winner of the
 Connie O’Donnell Student ART Invitational
The kickoff to BCM's silent ART was a great success! There was phenomenal artwork on display, including the entries done by local high school students for the first annual Connie O’Donnell Student ART Invitational.

The winner of the competition is "Self Portrait" a charcoal/graphite by Iris Sullivan, a Holy Cross High School student. Honorable mentions included "Sunday Morning," by Kenzie Eberhart and "Untitled (Tunnel)," by Zoe Moellering, both students at Notre Dame Academy. Thank you to all of the participants. The entries will remain on display in the BCM rotating gallery through fresh ART, Sept. 14.
Tickets Still Available for fresh ART!
Saturday, Sept. 14, 6 p.m.
fresh ART is less than a week away! That means time is running out to get your ticket to one of the region's top art events!
The 27th annual fresh ART auction and party will take place in the museum’s amphitheater at 6 p.m. this Saturday, September 14, with a live auction of “fresh” art created by dozens of artists working that weekend in Devou Park. The silent ART auction, featuring previously created paintings, ceramics, jewelry and more, will be on display and available to bid on through Sept. 15.

John Lomax, morning news anchor for Local 12, will serve as emcee for the event, which also will include a cocktail reception, auction preview, music by the Cliff Daly Band and dinner by McHale’s Events and Catering. A highlight of the live auction, which will be conducted by H. David Wallace, will be this year’s “Art from the Heart” by the late artist Wolfgang Ritschel, a mixed media created in 2003 titled “Out West.”

Tickets to fresh ART are $80. Purchase tickets by calling (859) 491-4003 or emailing [email protected].

Brown Bag Luncheon: Documentary:
The Siege of Northern Kentucky
Thursday, Sept. 19, noon
The documentary film, "September Siege - The Defense of the River Cities," follows the fascinating day-by-day account of the events in September 1862 when Confederate forces came to the doorstep of Cincinnati/NKY. The film will tell the stories of ordinary people who accomplished extraordinary things under the leadership of General Lew Wallace and the determined citizens of the region and shine a light on how cities on both sides of the river came together as one to stare down the enemy and thwart a Confederate invasion that not only saved Cincinnati but perhaps saved the Union.

The lunch and lecture will take place from noon to 1:30 p.m. in the BCM Education Center. Bring your own brown bag lunch. Drinks and desserts will be provided. Cost: $3 for BCM members; $10 for future BCM members. Free parking. Reservations recommended: (859) 491-4003. Free parking.
