Message from the Principal

Arianna DeGeorge

Dear Families,

What another wonderful full week of school! Our students are really getting into the school routine and we are enjoying being together and learning each day! Our classrooms have participated in creating their own respect agreements, as we are learning to respect each other, our school, and ourselves. We have also jumped right into learning as readers, writers, and mathematicians!

We wanted to give a big thank you to the PTO helpers who have assisted Bryden at recess and in the cafeteria these first few weeks to support our new transitions and procedures. It was so nice having all of your support! We truly appreciate it.

Sincerely,

Ms. Arianna DeGeorge

Bryden/Fairmount Principal

Literacy Spotlight: Boosting Early Reading Skills in Kindergarten

Kindergarten students in Ms. Rubenstein’s class are building strong foundations for reading by enhancing their phonological awareness! Recently, they practiced segmenting and blending compound words such as 'rainbow' and 'everybody.' Want to support this learning at home? Try these fun activities: Encourage your child to create new words by combining smaller ones, such as 'sun' and 'flower' to make 'sunflower.' Ask them to break apart compound words, such as 'butterfly' into 'butter' and 'fly.' These simple exercises are great for boosting early reading skills!
