This February Scouts, BSA launches and with it the very first opportunity for girls to join a Troop and begin their Trail to Eagle. Kym Nixon of newly forming Troop 111 is honored to serve as Scoutmaster. "I am excited to give my daughters the same opportunity that my sons had. Both of them are Eagle Scouts and my daughters always wanted to go camping and on other adventures that they saw their brothers doing" says Kym.
Troop 111 has been actively preparing for the February 1 launch date with a campout in November at Seven Rages and other fun activities. The campout was a first for most of the girls and challenged them as they learned to cook outside, pitch a tent, and tried to stay warm.
Scoutmaster Kym sums up her excitement by saying, "More than anything, I want the girls of our Troop to have the experiences that Scouts, BSA can offer. Working and growing as a Troop, and learning from and teaching one another is the ultimate goal and holds the greatest rewards. I'm excited to watch them advance in ranks. February 1st cannot come fast enough!"
