Why The Hoffers Celebrate Scouting
Our family has grown into a Scouting family over the last several years. Beginning with our oldest son joining Cub Scouts as a Tiger, all the way through our daughter being able to participate and recently earning her Eagle rank, Scouting has truly been something that has benefited our entire family.
With our children, we have explored experiences within Buckeye Council ranging from Cub Scout Day Camps, to weekend Family Adventure Camps and weeks of Summer Camp at Seven Ranges. Our family has personally benefited from youth leader training like NYLT and adult leadership training like BPI. Nationally we have had the opportunity to send our children to Sea Base and the Philmont Scout Ranch as well as visit several historical sights and Scout camps from Georgia to New York.
Throughout our time as a Scouting family, we especially enjoyed the free, family fun events provided as part of Celebrate Scouting. I recommend all families take advantage of the many opportunities offered in Buckeye Council for Scouts and Scouting families to discover more adventures together.

Camp.
Camp. A simple word that captures the essence of the summertime Scouting experience. It's both a verb and a noun. An act and a place. A hope and a memory. Something we look forward to and something we cherish. It's where the pictures in the handbook come to life.
Prices for Scout Summer Camp and Cub Scout Summer Camp increase on 4/1 - register today for the lowest available fees! Additionally, just released is the merit badge schedule for 2023! Check it out!

Celebrate the Eagle Class of 2022
126 youth including 8 females achieved the rank of Eagle Scout during 2022 in the Buckeye Council! Achieving the highest rank in Scouting is a tremendous accomplishment representing the culmination of years of effort and leadership. We will recognize this exemplary group at the Eagle Celebration debuting on March 15, 2023 at CelebrateScouting.org as an on-demand, digitally delivered experience. In addition to the 25-30 minute Celebration event, the site will also feature individual recognitions of every Eagle Scout in an interactive format. Last year’s Celebration and individual Eagle Videos were viewed more than 10,000 times!

Level Up Your Leadership Skills
Both youth and adults can level up their leadership skills this summer at NYLT or Wood Badge!
NYLT (National Youth Leadership Training) is a six-day program for Scouts BSA and Venturing youth that provides leadership skills and experience you can use in your home troop and other situations demanding leadership of yourself and others. Registration is now open for the 2023 course that will be held at Seven Ranges Scout Reservation, July 30-August 4. We are also looking for NYLT Staff! If you've attended NYLT in the past, you're invited to serve on staff for this year. Contact us if interested.
Wood Badge is a two-weekend advanced leadership course for adults! Gain a deeper understanding of scouting, apply skills throughout your Scouting career, network with new people, build skills to use in your unit, work, family life and community and have fun! Register now for Wood Badge 2023, taking place at Seven Ranges Scout Reservation, August 11-13 and September 16-17.

Spring and Summer bring a wide variety of opportunities to make new memories and experience all that scouting offers. Free, family, fun events begin this month, STEM Family Adventure Camps return in May, and Summer Camp registration is in full swing. Come see the pictures in the handbook come to life!
