We have more updates for the first annual Buckeye Lake Pirate Festival which is about 1 week away on Saturday May 18, 2024. The festival is for the public, Pirates, Steampunk and Mermaids , fans and friends!

Join Jolly Joel Riley and the KOOL Crew live on May 18 as they set sail and bring KOOL treasures to Port Royal (at the Harbor Community Center), Mill Dam Corner Grille, Papa Boos and the Island House from 11 am - 2 pm.

HOW TO ATTEND BUCKEYE LAKE PIRATE FEST

Load your Pirate mates in your car and sail to Buckeye Lake. Dock with your crew at Port Royal (located at the Harbor Community Center) for a Pirate Trade Show. Collect a treasure map and search for 2 Treasure Chests at Port Royal while shopping for crafts, supplies and services with 60+ vendors.

Use your treasure map to plan your adventure around Buckeye Lake!

Or, come by yourself and meet up with other Pirates and join a group of Pirates, Steampunks & Mermaids in search of treasure. We have group tours with recommended stops with larger parking lots to accommodate groups touring together.

Do you have a boat, any kind of boat or know someone who has a boat? Flip 'em some gas money Me Hearties and head out in search for treasure by boat. There are 20 locations accessible by vessels.

Swashbucklers are welcome too. Scout out Pirate Fest by yourself and you'll be plannin' your return next year with your group of friends!

Parking Options during Pirate Fest

There's a large parking lot a half block to the East of Port Royal (at the Harbor Community Center). Cost is $5 with the donation going to the local Boy Scout Troup.

There are a couple small parks nearby with parking lots located a few blocks from the Pirate Trade Show. Many nearby businesses with Treasure Chests have parking options, but please don't leave your car parked there if going on a tour.

A FREE shuttle will be running continuously from Port Royal aka Harbor Community Center to the following locations: Pizza Cottage, Buckeye Lake KOA, First Community Church & Hereinafter Cocktail Tavern.

Free Shuttle Service to parking locations detailed below:

• First Community Church - Free Parking
• Hereinafter Cocktail Tavern - Free Parking

Bus will run on a 20 minute loop.

Join us for Special Tours! There are 13 Special Tours where you may search for Treasure with friends and groups. Each Tour has a meet up location where you get a Treasure Map, a hosted tour guide flyer with locations where businesses are hosting special tour participants. Some Tour Hosts & Sponsors are offering free Pirate Fest flags (while supplies last).

Special Invitation for Steampunks & Mermaids

Steampunk & Mermaid enthusiasts will find vendor booths with quality items targeted to your wants and needs! Many hand crafted items will be offered in vendor booths that feature accessories and steam inspired art for sale. You'll find several vendors with high quality vests, hats & jackets at fair prices.

Meet up with fellow Steampunk participants on a Steampunk Whistle Stop Tour around the lake on a hunt for Treasure. Stop at the Steampunk Whistlestop Tour booth and we'll give you a Treasure Map and special list of locations offering: Goods, Crafts, Services, along with Food & Drinks Specials for Steampunks. There will be several photo opportunities at the recommended stops for the Steampunk Tour.

Mermaids will find sea inspired, hand crafted items available from vendors eager to share their custom wares with you. Our residential Mermaid, Cathy Blaies, will welcome you to her booth and she'll be posing for free pictures with a Mermaid from 3 - 5 pm in the Port Royal Pirates Cove.

Stop at the Mermaid booth and we'll give you a Treasure Map and special list of locations offering: Goods, Crafts, Services, along with Food & Drinks Specials for Mermaids. There will be several photo opportunities at the recommended stops for Mermaids and the tour concludes at the Blue Heron for dinner with a Mermaid at 6:00 pm.



Ohio Party Bus is offering a Shuttle Bus Treasure Hunt to Historic and Scenic Treasure Hunt locations. Sign up, board the bus and sit back and enjoy your tour of Buckeye Lake while searching for Treasure.

Advance registration is free and optional. For people that do register: the first 300 people registered will receive a free bandana that may be picked up the day of show (you will be notified that you are eligible the week of the show to pick one up).  Limit one bandana per registration via email provided; must be 18 years or older.  Don't wait to register, we're almost out of the bandanas.
