Buckeye Lake Pirate Fest This Weekend!

Ahoy Matey!

Here are the final updates for the first annual Buckeye Lake Pirate Festival which is only days away on Friday May 17 & Saturday May 18, 2024. The Pirate Festival is for the public, Pirates, Steampunk and Mermaids , fans and friends! Admission is free with the exception of Special Tours requiring reservations.

The Pirate Festival will go on ~ Rain or Shine!

The Pirate Marketplace is outdoors and most of the vendors will be set up under tents. Others may have umbrellas. Hope for the best!

The Treasure Hunt won't be impacted much by rain either. We expect everyone will be open for business and ready to welcome you into their establishments!

Shop Early on Friday & be Pirate ready for the Ribbon Cutting at 5 pm

Many people have told us they wish they could attend Pirate Fest dressed as a pirate, but they don't have a costume. No worries mate, we got you covered! The Northern Exposure Landship will be open for pre show guests on

Friday at 11 am to 8 pm.

The ship will be docked in front of Port Royal. So if you are wanting to get something to wear to our ribbon cutting, plan an afternoon trip to the

Northern Exposure Landship.

Aye it's going to be a very busy weekend! Thanks to our Matey Angela Fry with Keller Williams and at Life on the Lake for creating and sharing the weekend's awesome entertainment schedule with us!

Port Royal will host Pirates Cove: a Special Area for Family Activities

The Harbor Community Center volunteers will assist with crafts for kids and a sand filled Treasure Chest with prizes. Recommended for children 6+.

The Delta Kappa Gamma of Licking County, Book Ladies will offer books - Pirate, Mermaid, Lake or Ocean theme for kids to take home for free.

We'll offer special free services for children :

11 am – 1 pm Airbrush Tattoos

1 pm – 3 pm Balloon Twister - Balloon swords or pirate hats

3 pm - 5 pm Picture with a Buckeye Lake Mermaid

Avast Ye Mateys! Cast ye eyes on the Buckeye Lake Pirate Fest Donut!

Dockside Donuts will be at the Pirate Marketplace this Saturday and at their location in Millersport at 12408 Lancaster Street, Millersport. Look for the blue door and donut signs!

They are on the Treasure Hunt! You can swing by and pick up a treasure map (while supplies last) and register to win their fabulous Treasure Chest!

Purchase the Pirate Fest donut and 50 Cents from each one will benefit the Harbor Community Center! Ole One Eye (piratey and adorable) will also be making an appearance that day!

Port Royal (at the Harbor Community Center) is hosting the PIRATE MARKETPLACE and it will also be the PRIMARY location where TREASURE MAPS will be distributed and also at participating business locations.

Parking Options at Port Royal during Pirate Fest

There is a housing community to the north of Port Royal. * Please don't park in yards or driveways. *

There's a large parking lot a half block to the East of Port Royal (at the Harbor Community Center). Cost is $5 with the donation going to the local Boy Scout Troup.

A FREE shuttle will be running continuously from Port Royal aka Harbor Community Center to the following locations: Pizza Cottage, Buckeye Lake KOA, First Community Church & Hereinafter Cocktail Tavern.

Free Shuttle Service to parking locations detailed below:

Pizza Cottage - parking $5, receive a $5 coupon
Buckeye Lake KOA - Shuttle service for their campers
First Community Church - Free Parking
Hereinafter Cocktail Tavern - Free Parking

Bus will run on a 20 minute loop.

Many nearby businesses with Treasure Chests have parking options, but please don't leave your car parked there if going on a tour.

The Treasure Hunt Tour locations are planning for crowds so please try to car pool when you can!

The Buckeye Lake Pirate Festival is an adventure combined with food, beverages and shopping. Meet up at the Pirate Marketplace and secure a FREE treasure Map. While you are there shop the Pirate Market place for goods and services at 60+ vendors. Includes food trucks, beverages and cool treats.

The Harbor Community Center in the village of Buckeye Lake hosts our

Port Royal event while there will be 2 Treasure Chests full of loot. Register for both before plotting a course on your search for more treasure.

Study your Treasure map and plan your trip around the lake searching for Treasure Chests. A total of 40 Treasure Chests are accessible by land and 20 of them reachable by sea. Yes, Buckeye Ocean will be teaming with Pirates so beware Matey's ~ there will be Jolly Rogers flying

Use your treasure map to plan your adventure around Buckeye Lake and have fun looking for Treasure! Welcome fellow Pirates and share tips on searching for Treasure Chests.
