Getting to Know You
Meet Jacqueline Martinez! Jacqueline joined the Buda Economic Development Cooperation (EDC) in March 2023 as their Business Engagement Manager.

Jacqueline was born in Austin and moved to Buda in the late 70s, where she said she had the best childhood. After college she moved to New Mexico, and returned to Buda with her husband, Geraldo, and daughter, Eden, in 2005.

In addition to her husband, Geraldo and now 20-year-old daughter, Eden, Jacqueline’s family also included her stepchildren Maya, Enrique, Julian, and Adrian. Included in her family are her adorable pets, an English Bulldog named Pennie, and her two Maine Coon cats named Bhanji and Max. When she’s not working with local businesses, Jacqueline enjoys traveling, gardening, and is an art museums enthusiast.

As the Buda EDC Business Engagement Manager, Jacqueline works to help Buda businesses succeed with growth, expansion, workforce, programming, incentives and more! Jacqueline is the proud owner of Assemblage Gallery. So, as a small business owner herself she loves making a difference for fellow small businesses. “Talking with each business owner and finding ways to help and bring assistance where needed feels great and is such a privilege,” said Jacqueline.

Jacqueline describes the Buda EDC as an amazing team and that working with them is a privilege. “I have an enormous sense of pride working for the Buda EDC and knowing what we are doing is making a positive impact in our community and with the people who live and work here.”
Laura Bosmans is the Project Coordinator for City of Buda Capital Improvement Projects and Bond Programs.

Laura started with the City in March 2023 and has been keeping projects moving right along, whether it’s processing invoices, day-to-day operation, or coordinating with teams to resolve issues. Laura said, “I love every single person I work with and enjoy being able to do my part in making Buda better.”

Laura, originally from the small town of Iowa Park outside of Wichita Falls, made some stops in other states before finding herself in Buda. At the age of 11, Laura and her family moved to Sheboygan, Wis., her high school years were spent in San Diego, Calif., and her last stop before returning to Texas was in Madison, Wis.

When not working, Laura enjoys photography and making memories on outings with her two-year-old firecracker of a daughter, Victoria, and beautifully sassy 11-year-old stepdaughter, Aubrey. Her family also includes her dog, Hercules, a spoiled rotten, rescue Great Pyrenees.

The best part about working for the City of Buda? “The awesome boss, amazing coworkers, and watching Anime with my coworkers at lunch!” said Laura.
Say "Hi" to Jacqueline and Laura!
