2019-20 budget, incl. $71.5M in total investments for academics & facilities awaits County Commission vote

Earlier this month, our Board approved a balanced general fund budget for the 2019-20 school year, including significant investments in academics, social emotional learning, talent, operational improvements and community support. We're also asking the County Commission for $7.5 million in new funds for key academic initiatives and another $64 million to address critical facility needs and new school development. The County Commission discussed the budget yesterday afternoon, and community advocates were there to speak up in support of our investment requests. We're expecting a vote from the Commission very soon, but in the meantime you can watch this video for complete details on the 2019-20 budget or check out this Newsroom story.
