Start Budgeting Now for 2021!
It may be fall, but for many organizations it's also budgeting season...that special time of year when we think about all the exciting possibilities of the coming year and plan out the new things we want to accomplish. As you begin preparing your 2021 budget, here are a few key questions to ask yourself...

  • What new things do I want to START doing in 2021? (Make a wish list!)

  • What resources do I need to bring those projects to life? (Think about staffing and other outside resources as well as internal funding.)

  • How will I justify new funding requests to my superiors? (Writing it into your budget is only half the battle.)

  • What is my plan of attack for ensuring I can do all these great things I've budgeted for? (Your time may be limited but Evoque can help!)

  • And finally, what do I want to STOP doing in 2021? (We only have so much time and resources, so kick those "dead dogs" to the curb!)

Just for Fun: Top 5 Colorado Hikes for Families
Here in Colorado, we are blessed to have an endless number of truly spectacular hikes available to us. With so many to choose from, it can be difficult to know which ones your family will enjoy most. That's why our resident hiking pro (Jessica) has compiled a list of her top five Colorado hikes for families. She's currently on hike #51 of the year, and these are some of her favorites she's done with her kids.

Top 5 Colorado Hikes for Families:
  1. Lair O' the Bear Park: Easy, 1.5-mile loop with ample spots to picnic or play in the river. Kids love this spot!
  2. Gross Reservoir North Shore Trail: Easy, 1.7 mile out-and-back along the lake with great opportunities for fishing and rock climbing. Do this one before the trails are flooded during the pending reservoir expansion!
  3. Red Rocks Trading Post Trail: Easy, 1.5 mile loop through gorgeous red rock formations just south of the famous Red Rocks Amphitheater.
  4. Emerald Lake Trail: Moderate, 4.1 mile out-and-back trail past multiple stunning lakes in Rocky Mountain National Park. Note: must pre-book a timed entry.
  5. Monarch Lake Trail: Easy, 4.2 mile hike around a scenic lake with lots of wildlife including moose! Stop in Winter Park for lunch or ice cream afterwards.
