Upward Bound-WTAG.jpg

The mission of the West Texas A&M University Upward Bound grant project is to select qualified first-generation, low-income high school students from area target schools and provide dynamic, strengths-based programming in order to assist student participants in successful enrollment and completion of the post-secondary education program of their choice.

WT Ag hosted 20 students from Palo Duro and Hereford High Schools to educate them about the science and math involved with producing safe and abundant food supply. Dr. Lance Kieth, Department Head and Associate Dean of Agricultural Sciences, Dr. Ty Lawrence, Professor and Caviness Davis Distinguished Chair in Meat Science, and Dr. Chelsea Arnold, Assistant Professor of Agricultural Business & Economics.
