Happy New Year - and New Leadership!
As we eagerly enter 2023, we are excited to welcome three new Chamber board members.
Camela Balcomb is the Executive Director of Shades of Hope, an almost-secret jewel in Buffalo Gap that helps people throughout the nation battle addiction. She moved here from the DFW Metroplex in 1988. Camela has always had a passion of serving others and helping those who need a hand up. She appreciates the quiet life Buffalo Gap has to offer and is interested in enhancing positive growth in the community while preserving the quaintness and ambiance of the Buffalo Gap community. She has one son who currently attends Missouri Baptist University.
Michael Hull is a founding partner of Cedar Gap Wealth Management in Abilene. He grew up in the small West Texas town of Rotan, which instilled a love for small-town living. He loves hunting, shooting sporting clays, and an occasional round of golf. Michael serves on the Jim Ned Little League board and enjoys coaching youth sports. He and his wife, Natalie, are huge community supporters, and, with their son, Tyler, are happy to call Buffalo Gap home.
Lota Zoth leads Inspired Services, an organization dedicated to bettering communities. The volunteer Executive Director of our own Camp Able, Lota is a CPA who is heavily recruited to be on global for-profit boards. No matter how far she roams in her corporate role, though, she is always delighted to come home to Buffalo Gap where she is often seen hanging out with Santa Claus and two adorable King Charles Spaniels.
Congratulations also to Nathan Lowry for his election to the role of Board Chairman for 2023. Supported by Rhonda Moore, Vice Chair; Lota Zoth, Treasurer; Michael Hull, Secretary, these officers are joined by continuing Directors-at-Large Cody Cox, Jeff Dressen, Trish Dressen, and Lisa Perini to help shape the future of the Buffalo Gap Chamber. A special thanks to Nancy Henderson to her many years of community service, her unwavering leadership and sage counsel on the Chamber board, and her willingness to remain engaged as an ex officio member as her official board term ends.

The Year is New - What's News With You?
The Chamber offers several opportunities for our members to share their good news. The Reader Board in front of city hall is available for short messages about news of general community interest. A Community Calendar of Events on our website is open to your public events, too, if you’ll give us the details. And we would love to share your news and events on our Facebook page – if we know about them!
We’re also happy to include general information and photos in this Chamber Chat newsletter: company anniversaries, new key staff, awards, upcoming developments, expansions, or accomplishments.
For any of these opportunities, please give us as much notice as possible to work your news into our lineup. We would love to help you spread the good word!
Welcome, Welcome, Welcome!
We’re delighted to welcome new business members AEP Texas, Buffalo Gap I & E, Hatchett & Co. Real Estate, Jim Ned Post, Permian Energy Services, and RGF Insurance Agency. If you see representatives from these companies, please voice your own appreciation for their support of our community. And thank you to Louis & Rosemary Janis for joining as personal members!
And we’re excited that long-time member Abilene Beauty Bus has opened a permanent location here in Buffalo Gap right next to Loco Buffalo with fabulous products and services. We’re overjoyed that recent new member Buffalo Gap Hardware & Supply is opening this month!
