The safety and welfare of Buffalo Grove community members, the public at-large and Village staff
remain top priorities for the Village of Buffalo Grove.
All Village facilities, except for the police department at 46 Raupp Boulevard, will be closed to the public, effective Tuesday, March 17, 2020, until further notice. All public safety operations will continue, including services provided by the Fire Department, Police Department and Public Works Department. Village facility closures will include the Buffalo Grove and Arboretum golf courses.
The public is strongly encouraged to take all precautions advised by the CDC
to slow the expected spread of COVID-19 in our community, and our state. This includes practicing social distancing and avoiding social gatherings as a standard protocol over the next two weeks, at a minimum.
Village services available online or remotely (and not in person) include:
- The payment of water/sewer bills, which can be completed online, mailed in, or deposited in the drop box located behind Village Hall, 50 Raupp Boulevard.
- License renewals (except for liquor licenses) can be completed online at vbg.org by clicking on 'How Do I'.
- Filing of non-emergency police reports for incidents that occurred within Buffalo Grove village limits, and that have no known suspects, can be done here.
Appointments for building permits (issued on a priority basis for emergencies), and to obtain real estate transfer stamps need to be made at least 24 hours in advance by calling
847-459-2500 or online at
vbg.org/appointments. Appointments will occur only at the Police Department.
Village Board meetings will continue in order to complete necessary public business. All non-essential public meetings have been canceled, along with events scheduled at any Village facility over the next 30 days.
The Village will publish regular afternoon updates regarding this evolving situation through this Enewsletter, which will also be shared on its social media pages, including Facebook, NextDoor, Twitter and LinkedIn. Links to these pages can be found here vbg.org/socialmedia.
Over the last week alone, information about COVID-19 has changed at a rapid pace. All community members are advised to visit the Illinois Department of Public Health website
here
for the latest updates.
As a community, we have the ability make wise decisions that can, and will reduce the number of people exposed to COVID-19, according to local, state and federal health officials. Please continue to follow safety guidelines provided at the links above to keep our residents, businesses, and visitors safe.
