VALENTINO DIXON - DRAWING MY WAY TO FREEDOM

Valentino Dixon's art exhibit opening at the Burchfield Penney Art Center was a success. Over 80 people attended the opening talk where Buffalo artist Valentino Dixon was interviewed by WGRZ's anchor/reporter Claudine Ewing. Valentino spent 27 years in prison for a crime he did not commit. He credits his passion and discipline of drawing with colored pencils to creating a path to being exonerated. A highlight of the evening was Valentino receiving an award from Erie County Chairperson Hon. April Baskin. JCRC is grateful to Burchfield Penney team of Don Metz and Renata Toney and the Deborah Goldman and Grant Golden Philanthropic Fund which supported the creation of the exhibit. This exhibit will be on display until March 2020.
