STATE CHAMPIONS!
The Buford Softball team defeated East Coweta 9-1 to win their second consecutive 7A State Championship this past Saturday. This is the 12th state title for the program in the 22 year history of fastpitch softball at Buford. The Wolves (32-0) also posted an undefeated season, while winning 26 of the 32 games by run-rule. This remarkable team hit 78 home runs while striking out just 72 times, and posted 20 shutouts. Buford scored 336 runs while allowing just 27. The Wolves are currently ranked #1 in the Nation.

The goal of the Unified Softball Game is to create an opportunity for our Special Olympics athletes to showcase the skills that they have acquired through their Adaptive Physical Education classes and compete in a safe and encouraging environment. By creating Unified partnerships, Special Olympics Athletes and Student-Athletes will have the opportunity to work together to ensure fluid gameplay and the use of modified equipment will allow for all participants to play to the best of their ability. This will be a tremendous night for our Buford community to cheer for our students, enjoy fellowship with one another, and have a great time at the ball field.
